If America is a Christian nation, why are Afghan Christians being left to get raped and die?

While it was right to withdraw from Afghanistan, Biden did it in the wrong way.

The Taliban offered to surrender and hand over Osama bin Laden back in 2001, and the Bush administration refused.

If anyone deserves blame for the current debacle in Afghanistan, Bush deserves it the most.

While Biden made the right decision to leave Afghanistan, he could have handled it much better.

Let’s also not forget that Obama escalated the war in Afghanistan, right after winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

Both parties have failed the American people over the last twenty years.

Presidents from both parties have made things worse for Afghanistan, ever since the 1970s:
U.S. involvement in Afghanistan began in the 1970s when Jimmy Carter was president. A left wing Afghan government came to power in 1978 and sought help and support from the Soviet Union. This simple statement of fact disappeared from the official narrative and most Americans know nothing about it.

Instead there were tales of Soviet invasion and non-existent chemical weapons attacks. The Carter administration poured millions of dollars into the country and used Islamists as proxies to fight the Soviets.

Ronald Reagan was next and he greeted Afghan members of the mujahideen in the white house in 1983. Various Islamist factions in Afghanistan and later U.S. puppet president Hamid Karzai were recipients of money and weapons from Carter, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.

Osama bin Laden, said to be the mastermind of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, was among those who profited from Washington’s largesse…
Afghanistan would be better off if it had been left alone to resolve its own issues. The same is true for every other country the United States claims to be helping.

When presidents, and corporate media op-eds, and congress, and think tanks make the case for war, the rest of us must reject their arguments out of hand. Let us not forget Afghanistan when we are told to support sanctions, drone strikes, or boots on the ground anywhere else.

In order to understand Noam Chomsky, one needs to look at his Jewish background.

The prophets were always persecuted as traitors for alerting the political leaders of their transgressions.

When Chomsky is accused of hating his own country, it’s simply for doing what the prophets did long ago.

Exodus 1:17
The midwives, however, feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt had told them; they let the boys live.

Jeremiah 26:12
And Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people, "The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.

Daniel 6:13
Then they told the king, "Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, shows no regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed. He still makes his petition three times a day."

Psalm 118:8-9
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.

Psalm 146:3
Put not your trust in princes, in mortal man, who cannot save.

Acts 4:19
But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to listen to you rather than God.

Acts 5:29
But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

Revelation 14:8-12
Another angel, a second, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality.” And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.” Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.

Re: The withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan

When former Nuremberg war crimes prosecutor Ben Ferencz spoke to NPR a week after 9/11, he explained that attacking Afghanistan was not only unwise and dangerous, but was not a legitimate response to these crimes...

The drumbeat of war pervaded the airwaves, twisting 9/11 into a powerful propaganda narrative to whip up the fear of terrorism and justify the march to war.

But many Americans shared the reservations of Rep. Barbara Lee and Ben Ferencz, understanding enough of their country’s history to recognize that the 9/11 tragedy was being hijacked by the same military-industrial complex that produced the debacle in Vietnam and keeps reinventing itself generation after generation to support and profit from American wars, coups, and militarism...

On October 19, 2001, Donald Rumsfeld addressed B-2 bomber crews at Whiteman AFB in Missouri as they prepared to take off across the world to inflict misdirected vengeance on the long-suffering people of Afghanistan. He told them, “We have two choices. Either we change the way we live, or we must change the way they live. We choose the latter. And you are the ones who will help achieve that goal.”

Now that dropping over 80,000 bombs and missiles on the people of Afghanistan for 20 years has failed to change the way they live, apart from killing hundreds of thousands of them and destroying their homes, we must instead, as Rumsfeld said, change the way we live.

We should start by finally listening to Barbara Lee. First, we should pass her bill to repeal the two post-9/11 AUMFs that launched our 20-year fiasco in Afghanistan and other wars in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen.

Then we should pass her bill to redirect $350 billion per year from the U.S. military budget (roughly a 50 percent cut) to “increase our diplomatic capacity and for domestic programs that will keep our Nation and our people safer.”

Finally reining in America’s out-of-control militarism would be a wise and appropriate response to its epic defeat in Afghanistan — before the same corrupt interests drag us into even more dangerous wars against more formidable enemies than the Taliban.

This one is easy for me as I do not believe America or any other nation is a 'Christian nation'. They are all 'kingdoms' of this world and are not under the reign of God at this time. Jesus said 'These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.' Some Christians will die for their faith. Many Anabaptists and others have. Regardless of what is going on, we can have that peace that passes all understanding.

Someday scripture says we will judge the world. 1 Cor 6:2. But not now. Our mission is to share the Gospel and bring others into the real Kingdom. One that lasts forever.

I am not sure but I expect we may see some pretty historic things happen over the next few months. Even his friends and top aids are starting to contradict wha5he is saying just hours after he said it. That simply does not happen. He is in big trouble. it is very sad to watch.

Why couldn't he just have done a better job of it?

That is a good question. Biden had ample warning from the C.I.A., State Department intelligence, the military, etc. for a Taliban take over. Surely he was warned that dozens of Afghan districts were falling and Taliban fighters were laying siege to several major cities. He was warned that Afghan government was unprepared for a Taliban assault, according to a people familiar with the intelligence.

Early on Intelligence agencies predicted, that should the Taliban seize cities, a cascading collapse could happen rapidly and the Afghan security forces were at high risk of falling apart.

It is not that the military needed to stay in Afghanistan indefinitely. It was the method of withdrawal that was so badly bungled by Biden. The United States could have made moves to maintain control of the air base, moved people out in small numbers starting a long time back and stopped the Taliban from getting control until Americans, Afghan partners and Special Forces were gone.

I listened to Biden’s press briefing yesterday and either he is a bonafide liar or completely out of touch.
When asked if troops should be sent out into the city of Kabul to evacuate Americans who were not able to get to the airport safely, He said, “We have no indication that they haven’t been able to get through to the airport”.

If you saw any video clips of CNN’s Clarisa Ward who was on the streets of Kabul the last few days, we all know that statement was an out and out lie. Also within just a few mere hours the United States Embassy in Kabul issued a security alert warning. “Because of potential security threats outside the gates at the Kabul airport, we are advising U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to the airport and to avoid airport gates at this time.”

Biden also claimed “al Qaeda is 'gone' from Afghanistan”. Yet a few hours later in a Pentagon press briefing they confirmed it's still there.

That being said, when you see desperate parents passing their baby to United States Soldiers over a barbed wire fence, it breaks your heart. Or teen age boys who crawled in the jet wheel wells, and later falling out to their deaths.
