Of course, nobody ever said Szdfan was trying to create Marxists; I'm not sure what windmill he's tilting at.
Just think back to some of the things you’ve accused me of.
You could absolve yourself of some of those accusations it if you chimed in on ragpickers abortion thread, where he specifically asked for the left leaning on this board to respond.
That is, unless you believe it's a good idea to suck unborn babies out of mother's wombs while still alive. If you're not willing to denounce that, I'm not sure if I'd want you as a janitor at my childens' school, let alone a teacher.
I don’t feel the need to prove or “absolve” myself ideologically with other people. I don’t think I owe anything to anyone here and I’m not sure what ragpicker’s abortion thread has anything to do with Josh.
I actually have a very good relationship with Ragpicker. We disagree on a lot of issues, but we also I think recognize in each other our love and concern for other people. We’ve had some really good conversations.
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able meet in person yet, but I hope we can fix that.

So you have no interest in denouncing abortion as an abomination?

Not on demand.
Are you aware that they don’t perform abortions in schools?

Civics and the US constitution is topic commonly taught in US history and government/civics classes. Abortion is considered a constitutional right under the 14th Amendment since Roe v. Wade in 1973 which was 49 years ago. I'm not sure it needs to be emphasized over any other constitutional rights or supreme court cases that are covered in school. But neither should it be censored just because you happen to disagree. The supreme court has issued a lot of controversial decisions over the years. Some of them egregious. Some of them groundbreaking. None of that should be censored from students on the cusp of becoming adult citizens of this country.
In any event, the link you provided above is an article in a UK newspaper referencing statements by a UK teachers union about abortion rights in the UK. I'm not sure what that has to do with the United States.

Abortion is murdering children. What does "civil rights" have to do with this? The American constitution used to tolerate literally enslaving people; that didn't make it any less immoral.
Part of proper education is moral instruction: learning that murder is wrong, just what murder is, and why it's wrong. An education that lacks this is severely deficient.

We live in a global world, and trends tend to happen globally, particularly in the English-speaking sphere. I consider Canada and Australia especially important to me and do not really care too much that there is a border or an ocean between us. Perhaps you have a much more nationalistic mindset?
Please point out where it mentions abortion under the “Reading, Writing and Communicating” and “World Languages” standards. What you’re asking about is irrelevant to the standards and skills I’m teaching. Why would I be teaching anything about abortion in ELA or beginning German?

Come on, Szd. We've both been in public school classrooms. Ideology does eventually affect everything.
Have you made a conscious decision to promote life to your students, or have you made a decision to promote abortion and death? Those are the only two choices you can make. There is no "neutral" position.
I assume you don't want to promote racism to your students. Or do you think you can teach in a "value neutral" way where being racist or anti-racist is never relevant?

I thought about teaching my sophomores about logical fallacies, which is probably not going to happen this year because there’s so much content I have to cover and I’m generally sticking to what’s already in the curriculum this year.
You’ve provided an excellent example of a fallacy known as a “false dilemma:”
A false dilemma, also referred to as false dichotomy, is an informal fallacy based on a premise that erroneously limits what options are available. The source of the fallacy lies not in an invalid form of inference but in a false premise. This premise has the form of a disjunctive claim: it asserts that one among a number of alternatives must be true. This disjunction is problematic because it oversimplifies the choice by excluding viable alternatives. For example, a false dilemma is committed when it is claimed that, "Stacey spoke out against capitalism; therefore, she must be a communist". One of the options excluded is that Stacey may be neither communist nor capitalist. False dilemmas often have the form of treating two contraries, which may both be false, as contradictories, of which one is necessarily true.
I’m not “value neutral,” but I’m not going to let the keyboard ideologues dictate to me what and how I’m going to teach in my classroom.

So, in other words, you will not state clearly that you aren't going to teach either C.R.T. or pro-abortion dogma in your classroom.
