well, there is a back story of course.

This monstrous flying dinosaur bug was swarming around my computer screen. It was HUMONGOUS. So, I swatted at it. And, in doing so, well, I must have touched the F7 key and shut my touchpad down. The husband googled and watched you tube videos and nothing helped. I reset the battery. I plugged in the mouse and tried to go through settings and reset everything back to default. Still nothing.

Finally, my husband said (after like two hours of tinkering) ....just call the help line. So, I did.

I was told to push the F7 key once, and just like magic, it worked again.

Thank you for the advice Robert...perhaps if we meet one day, I will let you reprogram my F keys because I ain't touching them ever again.

My talents do not lie with computer usage. Clearly, the husband has other talents too.

So thankful for help lines.

And, I was told that perhaps I should just let the monstrous flying dinosaur bugs live in peace.......

Today .. is raining. A lovely glorious peaceful rain. 72F. Wind only 7mph. :)
Dark sky, but bright light. Some slow thunder. Lightning, not overwhelming.

A much needed drenching summer rain. i can “feel” green popping up in response. :D

It began so nicely. ^^^ :? :)

It turned into a full-day washout, possibly more rain than we had after Hurricane Ike, 2008.
A big lake in my front yard, maybe twice 2008, and many others’, field flooding, road flooding ..

i’m far away from hurricane weather -
but we get plenty of weather that blows in from the big ones here, whether Texas, the South, or East Coast.

i had to drive in it .. it wasn’t much of an overall storm .. just LOADS-OF-RAIN-WATER.
i’m glad to be home. hope not to leave until after reasonable draining out there.

Electric+internet going off+on; i hear the sump pump working. i’m happy to say. :D
WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF GULLYWASHER?
Gullywasher, “a short, heavy rainstorm,” is a dialect and regional word in the U.S. Midwest and West.
The first half of the word is a variant pronunciation of gullet “throat, esophagus,” from Middle English golet, gulet, from Old French goulet, from Latin gula “throat.” Gullywasher entered English in the early 20th century.

HOW IS GULLYWASHER USED?
I used to have a country neighbor who during drouths would inevitably, when he saw a white rim of cloudiness on the easter horizon, prognosticate a gully-washer, a clod-melter, a frog-strangler within the week.

JOHN GRAVES, "WEATHER BETWEEN EAST AND WEST," FROM A LIMESTONE LEDGE, 1977
The rounds of rain and flash flooding Tuesday presented another reminder that 2018 has featured both gullywashers
 and full-day washouts.

Today's sunrise was amazingly pretty.

The sky was filled with hues of pink and orange that began to dance amongst the darkness.

I find amazing beauty in the morning.

These types of things remind me often that God is near and that everyday is a fresh day, a fresh start and a day that we can make the world just a tiny bit better by just being in it and trying to live his word.

I am glad that God shows me these things. It makes me feel loved.

If you don’t soon get a deluge, i will be very surprised.
i’m not in such a direct path, but expect plenty of rain+wind here, too.

these 3 were some of my parents’ favorites.
(cute presentation) -

Orange Blossom Special

Steve Gulley and band. Stumbled onto this video, reminded me of the earlier ones.

The dancer, interesting he is, does not steal anything from the musicians, in my view.

These old guys are smooth. Is it muscle memory?
i’m not a musician, isn’t the fiddler leading the entire time, from count of 3? he was off camera, a lot, i couldn’t tell.
once the count of 3, they took off like a steam engine, and didn’t miss a beat.

It’s fascinating watching a coordinated performance like this, whether music, or barn building.
The coordination, rhythm, familiarity. trust. Awe inspiring.

Good stuff and this kind of music is made for clog dancers! I enjoy bluegrass music and old time gospel, which is what we sing mostly in our church up here in the hills of Tennessee!
