MD had a thread in which members shared some surprising facts about themselves.
i don't recall the name of the thread ..
but i do recall Searcher revealed her penchant for driving fast cars "at speed" (on Australian race tracks;) and, Wayne .. ? what was that Wayne did in his younger days .. something to do with the then-new nuclear plants? .. i hope they will see this and share again. my memory fails ..
there were a number of interesting "confessions" in that thread.

mine? not so memorable. i do not recall.

Maybe the one about my being getting my FBI record for plotting with some other Left Wing "activists to" destroy a nuclear reactor core? Those were the days...

Where Luther saw the two kingdoms (governments) as parallel - right and left hand, with spiritual on the one hand and temporal on the other - and both under God's rule, the Anabaptists generally had a more dualistic understanding, where the two kingdoms were separate - the Kingdom of God and the kingdom(s) of this world (presently under the authority of Satan).

For myself, DanZ probably said it best:

I'm sad for the loss of the posts of MD friends who have gone into eternity - I can think of three right off the cuff. Somehow, for me, their presence in our lives lived on through their archived MD input.

On the other hand, several other MD friends became real life friends and these blessings remain.

Here's an oriole bunting.

I seeded some bare spots in the lawn and thought of Matthew 13. One area was rather stony, so I added topsoil to see if that improves things. The cats running loose around the neighborhood will probably eat some of the seed, though.

I don't recall cats in the parable of the sower, which translation of the bible do you read?

Shalom! I was a member of the old Mennonite forum. I believe my online name was klayton.
I am a Mennonite lost amidst a sea of Protestants.
It is nice to fellowship with brothers and sisters in the Anabaptist tradition.

A bit about me... My ancestors came from the mountains of Italy to the US. I grew up on the west coast and now reside in the Midwest. I am a big fan of the Beatles, a little obsessed with llamas, and am slowly translating the Hebrew Bible (http://www.theheavenlyfire.weebly.com).

We almost should have an "I wish..." thread. There are things on this forum that I really appreciate. And then there are things that can drive me nuts. I stick to certain sub-forums and rarely stick my head in others for that reason. I know my limits.
