Today the chicks went out into their new coop. The guineas were in theirs a few days ago. The dog has to check on both of them.

Today ..
i stepped in between a bullying teen and her targets. :)
this was in a barn where young girls learn to ride and care for horses. they do the work, and work hard. it’s not just fun.

i made it short+sweet.
i stood in front of her, looked her straight in her pretty, shocked, eyes, shook my finger, and said, “No. pause. No. pause. No.”
and walked away.

silence in the barn.
the oldest girl, the trainer, smiled, silently saying “thank you,” then smiling, told us good bye and “see you next week!”

100% not planned. It was a moment whose time had come.

there was silence in the car driving home. later, my daughter asked, “WHAT DID YOU SAY?!”
i assured her i was firm, 1 word, i did not raise my voice, but i think she got the message. i hope.
my daughter laughed.

will this blow up on social media? knowing the child, it might.

i told my daughter, the stable is a place of business where all sorts of families bring their children.
if it’s not about horses, riding, care, work, leave it at home. this is not anyone’s living room - or bedroom.
yes. this was inappropriate. leave it at home.

i hope it helped. esp the bully. she needs to know to respect others’ boundaries. :)

i rarely play a role like this. i just hope it helped. no harm intended.

the message to my grdaughter, 13:
just as you expect respect for your physical body, you can expect respect in language.
if it’s not ok, walk away.

i guess i could say. ^^ :)
i’ve been going along, visiting this place 2X weekly for about 6 weeks or so.
quiet. watching. listening. sitting to the side knitting. it’s my fav knitting place.

so. when i put my needles down and walked over to address this young one bathing her horse, it may have caused eyes to pop. all around the barn. :P there was no plan. at all.

but, after, it gives me a little something to think about.

This afternoon we talked on the phone to an 80-year old Chinese lady whose mom we had known long ago. This single lady spends a lot of her time passing out tracts and witnessing to strangers (I would never have guessed she was not American by her accent). Many of the Chinese older people will not allow her into their space with her witness, but interestingly enough, other ethnicities do. She really has a heart for reaching the lost, and I look forward to reading her autobiography.

I hope I have her zeal for the Lord when I reach her age.

Came across this article that could have been science fiction; but it is not. Then I began to wonder if Robert and Ragpicker have had this problem.
Texas power companies are changing people's smart thermostats without them knowing to save energy amid shortage

Far from science fiction, it’s no surprise.

Technology brings efficiency and various positives, unfortunately, it enables invasive+controlling micromanagement by elected authorities, and those who deem themselves to be authorities. Generally, control is determined by the wealthy and/or powerful (as has been the case throughout human history, all continents).

There is no surprise.
Just wondering how far it will go before choking the life out of chosen targets?

Human history does not reflect dependable wisdom in self restraint. More often, train wrecks before “wisdom.”

Today I worked my butt off!

With the good results of my recent PET scan I have been taken off my Oxaliplatanin, the worst of my chemo drugs, and at my request they have cut my steroid in half. This has given me a lot more energy to get the work done to sell our Maine house (it goes on the market in 1 week).

Kind of local church had a fair today. Lots of people and fun activities.

They had a 20 foot tall climbing wall. My 16 year old wanted me to climb it with him. So a 62 year old dude climbed the wall and rang the bell ahead of that 16 year old.

Wife got a shot of me at the top of the wall as I rang the bell. Yes, I printed a copy and will be posting it above my station at work!

Pride may go before the fall, but I did not fall today!

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
I think I am funnier than I really am.
