The Anabaptist Vision unmasked

Re: Fauci E-mails and Honesty
So much slander and vitriol towards a person that Jesus loves and died for. Hard to believe this is a Christian forum. Perhaps we should raise some monies to get a hit man to take this terrible sinner out.
Or perhaps we could ask God to work in his life to bring him to salvation and start trusting God that God knows what He is doing by allowing things to unfold as they do. If this is what Anabaptism is about, it is hard to believe anyone would want to be an Anabaptist. Non-violence means very little if it doesn't also show up in words. God is so merciful to all of us for our own sinning. We should be merciful to others also. Romans 2 is a good read.

Re: Fauci E-mails and Honesty
Sudsy, please read Romans 13. Apostle Paul had a reason for preaching that to the church. God is both merciful and just and the truth needs to come out about this one way or the other because it literally affected every single lifeSudsy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:48 pm So much slander and vitriol towards a person that Jesus loves and died for. Should read Romans 1 first though, gives us a better idea of what is happening.Sudsy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:48 pm So much slander and vitriol towards a person that Jesus loves and died for. Re: Fauci E-mails and Honesty
Ok, for both suggestions I have re-read both Romans 1 and Romans 13.
Please help me to understand the points you both are making from specific verses. I guess I'm a bit slow in my old age.

Re: Fauci E-mails and Honesty
Depends on what your definition of an Anabaptist is. My beliefs are in agreement to the Mennonite Brethren statement of faith.Grace wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:27 pmAre you Anabaptist ?Sudsy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:48 pm So much slander and vitriol towards a person that Jesus loves and died for. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Which version is that and how well does it illustrate the original Anabaptist vision?Sudsy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:35 pmDepends on what your definition of an Anabaptist is. Re: Fauci E-mails and Honesty
I think this has wandered from the thread topic so if we are going to compare Anabaptist statements of faith against 'the original Anabaptist vision' (wherever that is spelled out), one can start a new thread and point me to that vision.silentreader wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:11 pmWhich version is that and how well does it illustrate the original Anabaptist vision?
Personally, I appreciate Boot's insistence on trying to get to facts that have proof as we should be quite careful with slandering others. I just don't agree that some of these topics should be on a believer's radar.
