Josh....put your strawman away. No one here has EVER made the judgement about more conservative folks that "none of their hearts are in the right place"

In fact the judgement mostly flows the other way. You attend one of the most judgmental churches of all with its "one true church" doctrine and practice of excommunication.

Who can say for sure who judges more? In all our seeking, learning, visiting, fellowshipping, "judging" & criticizing other denominations is unfortunately a very common practice, and I'm afraid is probably a stench in the Lord's nostrils

Indeed. The proper thing is an attitude of humility towards other believers. This is something both conservative and liberal people do not excel at.

Change the word "none" to "few" and the strawman disappears.

Ah....but Josh is incapable of nuance. That's part of his charm!

As I've said before, and most likely will have to say again, if the heart is in the right place...

I.
Don't.
Care.

Promise.

Keep in mind most of us "less conservative people" used to be *really* conservative and have seen the ugly side on things and have even been hurt in ways you couldn't imagine. I've been trying to steer this thread away from this reality but people keep dragging back there. Stop blaming us "resident liberals" for ruining this site. If the vast majority want us "resident liberals" to leave, I will be the first out the door. Your choice pal. Its all on you.

There’s not much left to do on MN except argue with the resident liberals who keep yelling about how bad conservative people are. Most of the conservatives have since dropped out.

yes.
i’m sorry to see this turn taken (against Josh) - possibly he was being too general, he would have to clarify.
i don’t believe he was thinking of steve (?) - i wouldn’t think so. (in my view) steve has shared about some personal difficulties, but not in ways that “beg correction.” (???) - or, he would have been corrected. :-| i’m perty sure. :-|

I'm pretty sure Josh wasn't fingering anyone specific, and my comment wasn't meant toward just Josh but perhaps all of us. I will admit his comment did ring home with me. Go back and look at threads from four years ago. There's a lot of people that no longer post and I have to ponder why at times.

One thing I always liked about MN is the diversity. Diversity (should) keep people from getting judgmental. And in my experience being judgmental keeps a group from being productive. I could tell story after story of churches that didn't really accomplish much because of the in-fighting and bickering. But I won't....

Any specific ideas or suggestions on how to accomplish or move toward that attitude, especially in the wide spectrum of Anabaptist "conservativity"?

Next thing you know, you'll have some of us original MDers weeping like the old folks in Ezra 3:12, sir. ;)
