No wonder they want employers, grocery stores, etc to require the vaccine - guaranteed profits for Big Pharma, from the same people who brought you the opioid epidemic, unaffordable insulin, and sky high prices for epi-pens.
I know I may be an anomaly, but maybe I am not, I am 62 this year. I have had no shot. I have not had Covid. I wear no mask. My life has returned to normal. I shake hands, hug people, and work in the public every day. I live with no fear.
My parents are in their 70s and have had the exact same experience.

I have too, other than when I isolated and “locked down” from March - April last year. In retrospect I simply made myself look very foolish and cost myself a bit of credibility, particularly with younger people.

My wife and I had our second Moderna vaccine yesterday. No side effects. It's the responsible thing to do.

If you believe its ethical, I agree.

It has not been FDA approved and they did use fetal cells in the process. I will wait until it receives FDA approval before I even consider the ethics of it.

I agree. Using “snake oil” cures that are not FDA reviewed and approved is very risky.

I think that is being unfair. I suspect that we will see little downside, but I still feel better waiting for approval. 5-25% of people where dying from it, I would not hold to that threshold. With a .01% death rate, I will.

I lived in Topeka for about 5 years. I am not surprised.

We have seen a surge of deaths connected to a new viral strain called Covid. This is true. If we total up all the influenza deaths, they are well over Covid. I think they are taking the long view on this.

Once we reach herd immunity supported by the vaccine, we will see deaths drop and it will be similar or grouped into influenza deaths. We have had years to develop immunities to influenza and for it to mutate to less severe versions. The same will happen to Covid. The vaccine is only to give our bodies time to adjust and for the virus to mutate. The vaccine is no cure. Our bodies do that. God was very wise in how we are made and how our bodies overcome things like this.

I was speaking to a local Amish man and he totally believes God brought this to bring the world back to Him. It was a nice positive discussion. It seems those who put their trust in God instead of chariots and horses, well the Amish do kind of trust them but that really means the power of the government, show little fear of things like this.

As in many things in live, there is a balance between the two. God sends helicopters and boats to help us in a flood too. He just does it through people who are showing the love of God in their lives. So we should not reject things like a vaccine, but we should not trust in it unconditionally.

For the past two months now, new COVID cases have been in the 55,000-70,000 range. The sharp decrease in cases in January and February has given way to a stubborn new stalled-out stage of the virus. This thing isn't going anywhere.

Image

We are now about 4 weeks past the point where the current wave of cases began to increase slowly again. In the past year, changes in deaths from the virus have followed changes in cases with a 3-4 week lag time. True to that pattern, although deaths are still decreasing very slightly, the curve is flattening and the numbers are in danger of stalling at around 700 deaths per day.

Image

By comparison, last year deaths were in the 700s or lower in a period spanning much of June and July, following the first wave of the virus. Then again, after the second wave, they were in the 700s in a period spanning parts of September and October following the second wave.

Even after an entire year of masks, social distancing, and millions having being recently vaccinated, this virus is still around, and 700 plus people a day are still dying from it, and that number is not diminishing at nearly the rate one would hope to see.
