Would you support that database then being used to prevent non-vaccinated people from buying groceries, voting, etc.?
That's not a legally use of existing vaccine databases and no one is proposing to prevent non-vaccinated people from buying groceries or voting.

You invent far-fetched ideas that no one is actually proposing and then get angry about the fantasies that you created in your own mind.

That said, If I am going to board a 10-hour flight to Chile or decide to go on a cruise then I want to know that the other passengers and staff surrounding me in close quarters are not infectious with Covid or any other nasty infectious disease. Even though my family and I are all vaccinated. It isn't 100%. And I expect the companies that I interact with to maintain safe and sanitary environments. So I expect companies like that to makes sure they aren't carrying infectious people. That is the same exact thing that most Americans desire and expect. Most people are sick of this pandemic, want to see it go away as fast as possible, and uninterested in coddling the delusions of people who want to make it worse. And they don't think that showing a CDC vaccine card represents the mark of the beast or whatever new delusions some evangelical pastors are currently spreading:

There is quite a bit of talk of having a "vaccine passport" that is required to go to public places, etc.

Like fantasies about employees of a hospital chain being unable to buy birth control?

So, what you are saying is that, yes you'd be totally fine with being required to a show a vaccine passport to go do things like buy groceries ("the companies you interact with").

So how do they track all the illegals who get vaccines?

For our health system, the same Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that all other health care is tracked with. Since the state is responsible for the allocation of the vaccine, bought by the feds distributed to the states, all recipients of a vaccine allocation are required to report the usage to the database.

I don't know the exact level of personal info is required to be part of that reporting.

Many illegals in our area decline any health care for fear of reporting and exposure to ICE.

They take down their name, address DOB and other information just like with anyone else. And open up a new file if that person isn't already in the system. There is no citizenship test required to get a vaccine.

Can people lie and give fake names and such when getting a vaccine? Of course. Vaccine clinics don't scrutinize your ID and run background checks like they do at the DMV. But anyone can lie and give them false information, not just undocumented. The data tracking is secondary to disseminating the vaccine.

When the FDA does approve the vaccine, I go to get mine. I am going to deny ID and see if I can get a vaccine. I will not lie since we are called to be honest always by Christ. I bet I get refused without ID although others can get theirs.

I've never shown an ID for any vaccine. I have given my name and DOB and wrote my address down on the form. Sometimes if they are sophisticated then can scan the barcode on your ID and automatically retrieve the information that way. So they might ask for a drivers license for that purpose. But that just avoids having to type it in manually.

Which means your fever dreams of a national, centralised tracking system for vaccines is obviously not the case.

No, it just means that there are likely to be some errors, just like in every other large database ever created. I spent a decade of my life working with large fisheries databases with millions of lines of data and there are always errors and they are always being scrubbed.

What the error rate is in statewide vaccine databases I have no idea. Some errors might be due to deliberate mis-reporting by individuals. Others might be data entry typos by clerks and nurses who transpose a letter or digit. Others might be software errors or glitches.

Do I think the deliberate misreporting of information is any sort of significant or meaningful problem? I seriously doubt it.

In any event, doing so would just hurt the person doing the lying and no one else. When you go to board that international flight or cruise ship and claim that you had your Covid vaccine and they can't look it up because you gave a fake name or DOB when you got your shot. That only hurts you, no one else. That would be like giving a fake name when you register to vote and then showing up at the polls and discovering that there was no registration for you in your correct name. Oops. Sorry, you can't vote.

Whoa. So there's some giant INTERNATIONAL database now they check before you board a plane for a vaccine?

Why should people have to centrally register to get the vaccine at all? Do you really think a giant, international database on all people is a good thing? Do you think it will advance civil liberties? Do you have no concern it will be abused?
