Re: Karl Marx: Opium of the People
Maybe you need to remove the plank from your own eye before trying to a remove the sliver from anyone else's around here.
In my last post, you misinterpreted my words once again, to make them say something I never said, to force me to defend myself from a position I never took.
That's slander. Slander is a sin, the work of the devil, which is habitual with you. Maybe you should think about that. That's severe immaturity, at best.
Now you're giving a lecture against a position I never took, as though you know I might need it. But you don't.
I don't know if that's slander or not but it's certainly a sin against charity to assume the worst of peoples character, which you do consistently.
You might think this constant preaching at people makes you look smart or righteous. The truth is you look immature and desperately seeking attention. Maybe slandering others is the only way you know how to get attention. It's pathetic.
Get a life.
Nor have I got time for this. This is the last post you will ever receive from me.

Re: Karl Marx: Opium of the People
My last post says nothing at all about you or how you meant what you said. Feel free to respond to the content of what I said or not, but if you do, please do respond to what I actually said. If I were actually slandering you, I would consider that a big deal, but I think you are just misreading what I wrote. In this thread, and in others, I sometimes know you are offended, but I don't really know what you think about the subjects we are talking about or how you would respond to the things I am saying if you took the time to do so.Falco Underhill wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 4:00 pm In my last post, you misinterpreted my words once again, to make them say something I never said, to force me to defend myself from a position I never took.
Hint: most of the time, I really am thinking about the issues we are discussing, not trying to make points about you or anyone else. And most of the time, what I say is pretty much exactly what I mean. If I want to address you, I will, directly. If I say something about Marx or Hitler, I am not talking about you. Especially in a thread about Marx.
Hint: most of the time, I am not trying to represent you at all, and certainly not to misrepresent you. I am trying to tell you what I think about the subject we are discussing. I assume that you represent your views and I represent mine. We're not terribly good at representing each other's views, best to focus on representing our own.
I'm pretty sure both of us care about the Bible and the Kingdom of God. I'm pretty sure neither of us is fond of Marx or Hitler. I suspect you are responding to something you are reading into what I wrote, not what I meant or said.

Oh, I must confess, we're one and the same. Knotwise is the family name. Your words are not what is useful and good in building up. While you may feel frustrated, how we speak to each other does matter. I fall into this at times too, so I do understand, but we all need to work harder at speaking the truth in love.Falco Underhill wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 4:00 pm You might think this constant preaching at people makes you look smart or righteous. A forum is a place for discussion of differing viewpoints. If that is upsetting to you, it may not be the right place for you. I would not want to see such discussion take you to a place that you are not reflecting the love of Christ to others.

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.

Also, I've decided this is not the place for me. (Which I've been considering for a while, anyways, for various reasons.)
God bless everyone here, Boot included!
Sincerely,

Ken wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 4:30 pmOh, come on. It's called back and forth. When you respond to what I wrote with:You should expect some pushback.i’m saddened at numbers of Christians clamoring to use gov “force of the sword” to beat swords into plowshares.
not at all cognizant of what they’re doing. “not i!”
Are you really truly saddened by Christians who advocate for a reduction in the numbers of weapons of war in this world?
Are you instead cheered when firearms sales go up as is the actual subject of this thread?
Robert and others have taken this in a better direction.
To respond to you above -
In the world, on any typical news page or other, i fully “expect pushback” on any comment, because pushback is the present “way” the world, ignorant and denying of Jesus Christ, performs. This forum generally does better than the world.
i don’t accept your understanding of “universal truths.” (ex., you should .. ??) really? i see.
i’m sorry you are in position of influence to so many young ones who find themselves in your captivity. i realize you are not the worst example, only standard issue public school teacher. numbers now in the millions.
This is one reason of many i think training and min age requirements should be put on smartphones, children+young people are not learning language basics, they are quickly learning poor communications skills, when exactly the opposite is “age appropriate.” Each person has 1 opp to be a child, teen, young person. It’s hard to impossible to recover time lost later, as an adult. God designed humans to mature slowly. We do mature slowly, regardless of outward appearances.
Women are not small men. Children are not small adults.
That’s a bunny trail. ^^
Regarding above.
After aggressively criticizing my words, you moved on to question (not what i wrote, but what you invented) - presumptions/accusations of my (obvious-to-you, very wrong) beliefs and intent.
When reading something you don’t like, or don’t understand, instead of quickly lashing out in self-righteous protest,
how about simply asking for further explanation? it’s an opportunity to learn, to dialogue. learning/dialogue requires interest.
jumping to conclusions, pushing back, indicates no interest in learning/dialogue. just bullying. 2 different things.
With many, i grieve about the sorry state of gov ed. Never at higher cost to taxpayers.
Continuing to prove, money isn’t everything.
God bless every family that is empowered to walk away from gov schools via this unexpected shutdown.
“Never say never.”
Nothing on earth is eternal. No human construct is “too big to fail.”
