Some, like most things, go to extremes with their pets (I.e. a steak for supper ). And if there is a big enough market for it, which there is, some pets will be treated better than many if not most children in this world, imo. We mainly have had rescue pets. Currently 2 cats and 1 dog. Are they spoiled ? For sure compared to the treatment of many.

Perhaps if we are to look at the spoiled treatment of pets we should also think about the puppy mills that are mainly an Amish thing. It is estimated the Amish have 100 of these here in Ontario. And the mis-treatment of these money makers is quite an issue here. We got our last dog that was just dumped on a roadside as a pup. A common thing when a pup isn't selling. And then there is the mis-treatment of milk cows, beef cows, chickens and pigs in how some go about making a living.

Just saying, there is much mis-treatment of animals as there is treating them as children.

'Loose attitude' meaning - angry/pouting for no good reason. ? ? ?

On second thought, there is far more mis-treatment of animals than there is treating pets as children. So whoever the 'lobbies' are they should appreciate this revised comment even more. :)

i only used the word, “loose” to reflect “not much thought involved.”
unfortunately, your doubling-down indicates we are unlikely to agree. so, i’ll leave it at that.

I'm always bothered when people mistreat an animal... but I find it horrible when PETA begs for money right after advertisement of an abortion clinic... Tag lines like "unloved animals need your help" "abandoned to a cruel death"

Another thought that could be bothering - being extremely concerned about the abortion of a fetus yet, if one believes in ECT, not being much concerned about those who are born and their never ending destiny. Concerned, meaning doing all they can to keep the born from never ending conscious torment.

I'm not a PETA follower or an abortion activist but I do look forward to the time where the Kingdom fully comes to earth and the lion will lay down with the lamb and all dying of both humans and animals comes to an end.

I'm not there myself but I think the vegans are closer to Kingdom life than some of us meat eaters in that regard.

I'm not actually sure what you mean by ECT...

As for the vegans... well I have no clue what we will eat in heaven and in the beginning, we were not meat eaters. I think I would starve on earth though... Or become diabetic eating beans and rice all the time.

ECT is a short form for Eternal, Conscious, Torment. A belief that came about in church history that those who do not put their faith in Christ for their salvation will end up in a lake of fire of endless, conscious torment. Still used today by many in their evangelism.

I agree as it states in Genesis 1:29-30 we and animals were not originally meat eaters. I have tried a vegan diet for a short time and it is interesting how fast our taste buds can change. This is a popular habit of eating by the Seventh Day Adventist. God said what He created was 'good' and then man disobeyed and brought death into the world. I'm thinking all killing is what God intended and the Anabaptists understand it correctly regarding mankind. But animal life should get much more respect than it does.

I really don't know if ECT is true or not, but I wouldn't want either options... That being said...
Detach yourself from your emotional response for a moment... how do you know aborted babies go to heaven? Any verses to support this idea?

Well, you’re not alone, and your thread stayed on topic for 2 pages - nothing to sneeze at!
