And tonight I get my first spam email from Lifesitenews. Trying to gin up outrage about Parler, censorship, and Trump, and “turning the tides to restore the family and the culture”.
What a crock. So predictable. Unsubscribe and block.
I didn’t expect them to actually accomplish anything worthwhile, but I hoped they’d at least not send me spam if I checked the box saying not to send me emails. That lasted all of three days.

i’m a little surprised, and not.
i used to read LSN with some frequency, and, i signed a rare petition. very rare.
i’m not bothered by them.

i may have hit “unsubscribe,” i don’t recall specifically. i usually do.

 i routinely unsubscribe from unwanted emails.

when i unsubscribe, i put that email in a folder, in case i’m not unsubscribed. then i have the date to refer to, if it persists. certain sites take longer than others.

on rare occasion, the unsubscribe option IS a scam, resulting in more unwanted emails!
now, THESE irritate me to no end. grrrr.

but, as long as they respect the unsubscribe request, i don’t let it bother me.

i’ve not gotten anything from this petition. yet. :)

Y'all need to discover the strategy of multiple email addresses. Sign up for something like this with a throwaway address and never check that mailbox. Mine says 999+ in the Inbox, and I only looked at it because of this. No need to unsubscribe, just let them compost.

From Pablo Yoder's email list. This is the mother and daughter for whom Ken Miller went to prison for helping flee the USA.

A Special Prayer Request

January 18, 2021

Dear Brethren and Friends,

Greetings in the name of our Lord- the One who is All- Powerful and All- Knowing. I praise Him for providing for, protecting as in a cloud pillar, and sheltering my daughter, Isabella, and I these last over 11 years as I have been raising her for Christ in an undisclosed location. She is now 18 and free from the court rulings that I disregarded that stated that she was not to be taught the sacredness of marriage according to God:

Haven't you read that the Creator made them male and female... for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefor what God has joined together, let no one separate. (Gen. 2:24, Matthew 19:3-6, Gen 1:28, Eph. 5:31-32)

and from where I was put on the stand for the day concerning my Biblical conviction of how to raise my daughter due to being accused of “emotionally abusing” her with my belief of the two kingdoms- the kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world.

Today, January 18, 2021, I am voluntarily surrendering myself to the U.S. Authorities by walking into the U.S. Embassy in Nicaragua.

Isabella and I will be walking in together; however, we do not know what will occur, especially since neither one of us have current paperwork. We covet your prayers with our following concerns: that we could travel together to the US and that she could find a home that supports her convictions.

In addition, I ask you for prayer specifically for me to honor and to glorify God and for my health. Thank you in advance for your prayers. May our Lord be further glorified in this matter.

For His Honor and Glory,

Lisa Miller

Psalm 91

Thanks so much for your prayers…

Pablo Yoder

I was sent this today and wondered if there was any further news?

inspiring. heartfelt, beautifully composed. thank you for sharing.
there will be expenses. she/they may be required to have legal representation.
i’m sorrowful this could not have happened a year or six months ago. praying for mercy in the courts.

if a way to contribute to help with expenses is created, i hope it’s made known.
if so, i hope the effort is secure. (i.e., i would not trust go fund me, which has a history of subjectively cancelling and returning donations without notice.)

prayers for mercy in the courts, good health for all involved, and extended peace in future.
prayers for Isabella to find a loving home and community to embrace her.

Amazing. I wondered whether this would happen one day. God bless them.

It appears that the child is 18, so any custody ruling will not apply to her, however the US government will still have to go through extradition proceedings unless she willingly gets on a plane, or the government there simply puts her on one, deporting her, which can happen as well. There might be the issue of an overstayed visa as well. While an embassy is technically US territory, I doubt they can do anything except request her extradition. Last chapter still is pending. Hoping for the best.

Prison is a foregone conclusion.

Looks like one could expect up to a 3-year sentence for international parental child abduction.

i pray the courts+prison, if necessary, are the worst she will face, and her daughter will have to bear her mother enduring. either or both might have to face worse. i pray not.

there could be terrible culture shock ahead.

I don't think it is necessarily a foregone conclusion. But she will need a good lawyer to negotiate some kind of alternative service diversion program. Those are more common at the state level not the federal level. They may expect some demonstration of remorse and making of amends. Which if she is not willing to do, may make a diversion program or alternate service less likely. That is going to be the rub.
