Poll: Masks and Face Shields

Re: Poll: Masks and Face Shields
I think based on deaths going down (the curve is bent!) in spite of reopening the country and many people not even wearing masks, together with not as much fear of this now, we should dump this farce of a fear/feel-good social experiment.

Except you don’t have to get vaccinated every time you walk into a store or go to church.Ernie wrote:
There needs to be honest discussion about whether we’re expected to wear masks forever.

Re: Poll: Masks and Face Shields
I see the same situation with masks as described here for the Phrygian cap of the French Revolution:

Source: To Quell the Terror: The Mystery of the Vocation of the Sixteen Carmelites of Compiegne Guillotined July 17, 1794, by William Bush. Page 88.On that sinister night the royal family were grossly insulted. The king, constitutional head of the new revolutionary government, was obliged by the mob to don the red Phrygian cap. Heretofore reserved for convicts condemned to the galleys, the conical cap had been introduced to revolutionary Paris by a contingent of former galley convicts from Marseille. In the new order their emblem of shame had become a symbol of political correctness.

Re: Poll: Masks and Face Shields
US citizens have now taken the mask debate to nearly complete opposite ends of the spectrum.
Not allowing people to mask, even if they want to:

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watc ... chers-face
At least there is not a state law requiring people to unmask.
Not allowing people to unmask outdoors in public places:

At least the state law doesn't require masks in homes and non-public outdoor settings.
I guess it is possible for the polarization to get worse yet...

Exactly what kind of person insists on wearing a mask in a restaurant? To wear it from walking from the door to the table, where they then take it off?Ernie wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 1:25 pm US citizens have now taken the mask debate to nearly complete opposite ends of the spectrum.

Re: Poll: Masks and Face Shields
I can kind of understand the Texas business owner's perspective. It didn't used to be normal to allow people to wear face coverings everywhere, like banks...Josh wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 9:14 pmExactly what kind of person insists on wearing a mask in a restaurant?
