Re: Today ...
We move into our new church building today! So great and wonderful to not be on metal folding chairs in a hay shed or shop any longer. 3 years ago we moved here. Seems like today is a milestone.

Re: Today ...
We are catching Dungeness crabs on the Oregon coast. Grilling fresh tuna for dinner. The neighbors of the Airbnb we are at are coming over. Their children visited with ours and then their mom came over. Funny thing was, as soon as she caught a glimpse of my wife, she exclaimed “You love Jesus too!”.
Children went swimming in the ocean waves and played on beach and explored tide pools yesterday.

Today ..
i’m in Holland, MI visiting with my newlywed and newly moved family.
i was anxious about driving through the Gary-South Bend area, but had a completely enjoyable drive, INCLUDING through this area.
The fall skies were esp beautiful, clouds and sun-breaks, rainbows now+then. Some vivid, some double.
i was on time, even with harvest vehicles and occasional construction areas. Was not rushing, but it was a nice surprise to get through it smoothly. Big full moon that night.
Returning Monday, with new confidence about the drive.

Technically last night- watched the Cygnus launch that went up from Wallops Island, VA. We weren't there but live close enough that we can see the rocket or in this case the orange 'fire' as it clears the trees in behind us. Could see the glow as it launched then shortly after see it rise above the trees and could see it till it was a tiny blip in the sky. I enjoy seeing the launches in the day but the night are really spectacular.

Did you see it bounce off the firmament?QuietlyListening wrote:Technically last night- watched the Cygnus launch that went up from Wallops Island, VA. Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
I think I am funnier than I really am.

Re: Today ...
Was up in Maine for a week, and the fall foliage, a month early (for my benefit, I presume
) was gorgeous.
While there, I chatted with a very gracious Brethren lady whose group is thinking of separating from the umbrella group, over sliding standards, I understand. Anyway, she told me that there are several Amish communities in the State besides the one up in Smyrna.
My visit was very good, including attending church which is currently meeting in the back yard of my relative by marriage, even though it has been a bit chilly. My niece's husband spends time each day witnessing, and has had some good conversations. He'll stop by the side of the road if he sees a group of young men, to talk to them about their eternity. He's the one who led his wife's cousin's hubby to the Lord, who was in a very strict group, and wears long sleeves all the time even now.
I was encouraged by my time up there.

It may be time to ask my son to invest in a portable defibrillator to carry for our times together.temporal1 wrote:Today ..
