Not sure if the copy/paste worked on this-
I didn't believe this is really happening but my good friend says it is- I don't know- I have to work Saturday so I won't be able to see it- if it is true. Josh used to live in Fredericksburg- I see enough Trump signs in that area to not doubt there there will be some kind of showing for some kind of support- raising awareness.

That would be Democratic. Bernie ran for the democratic nomination and lost. It can be safely assumed that he supports Joe Biden.aussieandy wrote:No most of them vote Bernie Sanders I think but I could be wrong.Ernie wrote:And they all vote democrat, correct?aussieandy wrote:I spoke to the Bruderhof's Laura a few months back and found out that the Bruderhof do vote.

I’m sure Fredericksburg’s non-Amish are mostly Republican voters, although when I was there a few weeks ago I saw a lone Biden sign. In case you’re wondering, Fredericksburg was originally a Catholic town, and still has non-Amish people in it.Valerie wrote:https://scontent.fpit1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/ ... e=5F86D05D

Having “buggy rallies” for Trump is not a normal thing so if this happens it will be a new one, and not one that would be acceptable to people like Danners, Tobes and so on. If rebellious youth are doing this then it is the same as their carousing, drunkenness, drug use, and vandalism.

An “evangelical type” is someone on his way out of the Amish.Valerie wrote:Well you'd probably be surprised, or maybe you, like myself, have witnessed how many OO Amish men are sitting on the computers in libraries in various Amish areas- I started seeing this about 13 years ago- actually because I personally knew an OO Amish (evangelical type) who was very capable, on the internet-Josh wrote:People who are in Facebook do not represent conservative Anabaptism, since people getting on social media are, by definition, becoming more liberal. I had been messaged about it as well-
The post started a lot of people commenting on Amish voting, or not-
One commenter said she is Mennonite, & abstained from voting her whole life, but will be now.
In a case like that, is this a church member breaking a rule, or a change in church rules?
Also, when I was on the MAP Ministry discussion forum and supported that cause, there was an OO Amish man from PA that would post on there occasionally as he had questions.
Just saying, whether Amish or Mennonite, I have personally met/known/heard 'members' who don't agree with nor follow all the rules.
Lots of people don’t follow the rules. Amongst Holdeman Mennonites and amongst Amish, you will find people who use photography, follow professional sports, dress immodestly, are enslaved to wealth, succumb to pride, fall into vanity, give in to lust, vote, possess firearms for non hunting or sporting purposes, follow politics, and have Facebook accounts.
Unfortunately, people who do these things often end up leaving the church because ultimately God’s church isn’t composed of people who want to be proud, vain, wealthy, and worldly. But if you search hard enough you’ll find such people. I would recommend to look for people with a quiet and gentle spirit instead.

Trying to organize the Amish using Facebook strikes me as rather futile. What's next? Amish discounts at the local Best Buy?

Yes he left the Amish at age 50 & became Mennonite. World with and drives for Amish & he says they are hoping and praying Trump wins the election.Josh wrote:An “evangelical type” is someone on his way out of the Amish.Valerie wrote:Well you'd probably be surprised, or maybe you, like myself, have witnessed how many OO Amish men are sitting on the computers in libraries in various Amish areas- I started seeing this about 13 years ago- actually because I personally knew an OO Amish (evangelical type) who was very capable, on the internet-Josh wrote:
