If you measure Covid-19 deaths the same way we measure deaths from other causes, that's the number. Why use a different to measure death counts just for Covid-19?

Measurement of COVID-19 deaths is being used for political cover to justify massive changes in American, such as transferring wealth from small businesses forced to close to big businesses like Amazon can get even bigger. The rich grow even richer in America, like Jeff Bezos' net worth being up $13 billion during the COVID-19 panic. Meanwhile, small businesses around me are closing - some of them for good.

The flu kills between 12,000 and 61,000 in the US a year. So far, COVID has killed 183,000 and that may be an undercount. I honestly don’t understand how you compare COVID to a bad flu season.
The CDC just revised that figure down to 6% of the original count due to covid. The rest are due to comorbidities.
No they didn't. The 6% are just the death certificates that don't list any other causes. It's like saying AIDS doesn't kill anybody because while it destroys the immune system, what actually kills you are other diseases like pnuemonia.

I think this is a deliberate misreading of what the CDC is saying.

https://www.wbir.com/article/news/healt ... c9e499242a
The Centers for Disease Control said six percent of COVID-19 deaths were from COVID alone, but the claim that the virus killed only 9,000 Americans is incorrect. Most deaths from the coronavirus had causes in addition to COVID, not instead of it.
The CDC website reads "For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death."

This means 94 percent of people who died of the virus in the US had other conditions, which contributed to their death in addition to COVID-19.

This echoes information public health doctors have shared since the pandemic began that people with underlying health conditions are at higher risk of complications and death due to the coronavirus.

These include older people and people with chronic breathing problems, diabetes and high blood pressure, among other health conditions.

The CDC statistic does not mean that 94 percent of people listed as COVID-19 deaths are listed incorrectly. It means 94 percent of people died of COVID-19 and something else.

Years from now, when life is back to normal, some people will still be clinging to ancient statistics, wearing a tattered face mask, insisting "COVID-19 is the leading cause of death!"

There's no need to worry about a narrative here. Big business is getting bigger (and woker); the richer are getting richer; small businesses are struggling, or closing.

Step back and think about why this is this way, and who benefits from a prolonged panic. I'll give you a free hint: the person benefiting from a prolonged panic isn't you.

I do think that COVID has exasperated the inequalities that already exist in our society. The transfer from small business to big business was already happening and this disaster has sped it up. The richer were already getting richer long before COVID.

Now the idea that the “panic” over coronavirus has been intentionally manufactured in order make the rich richer...that’s a narrative and it’s a whopper.

Big online retail and tech companies, yes.

Big oil companies, airlines, hotel chains, cruise ship lines, restaurant chains, and auto makers, malls and mall retail, not so much.

The recent run-up in the stock market is almost entirely the result of tech companies and big retail like Wal-Mart. Take those away and the rest are going nowhere fast.

If you don't want forced face masks, forced vaccinations, etc, then join up with Pam Popper. She has a good plan.
