I can attest that here's some truth in that statement.

Another poll option...

No. It's unnecessary...

How about "I'm not a fan, but also not enough of a fundamentalist to make it a sin."

I would just say that if you still have your natural hair color, and think that you would want to dye it if you go gray, I would suggest going to a hair dresser and have them match the different shades of hair colors they see, so that they would know how to streak it later, so that it looks natural. Hair that is totally all one single shade just looks really fake (if you want my opinion, which probably no one does). Some people don't go gray at all, or until much later in life. My grandfather on the Buller side died at 68, with completely all brown hair, just like he always had. I'm still a few years away from that age, and I'm pretty well speckled already, and my beard - such as it is - is almost completely gray. My grandfather never wore one, so I don't know if it would have been gray, or not.)

I have often wondered how long she will sustain this, because at a certain point, there is something really strange about a sixty year old with jet black hair. In my store, I occasionally see a 70 or 80 year old without any gray hair, and it looks pretty odd. It seems like coloring your hair to cover up gray hair kinda paints you into a corner.
Our pastor is 67 or 68 now. His hair is still so brown I assumed he dyed it. But now that he's up close on our tv for livestream, I can see some silver strands as theighr catches them but overall, his hair still all brown by appearance, some gray earlier, some later. I'm 62 still mostly brown, with silver. I used to dye my hair occasionally or have it higighted but reading Anabaptist publications made me reevaluate alot that the Word should have before.

That being said, I've always looked terrible in gray so never wore it (my skin tone clashes) so it will be a real challenge to live with gray hair, it looks awful on me.

I concur with what I once heard Steve Chapman say (who turned grey or white haired really young) that he didn't care what color it turned as long as it didn't turn loose. At 64, my hair still has some dark color but my beard is mostly grey. But sadly, if my hair were a bean field, you would say you had a pretty poor stand.
Speaking of an abrupt color change, my Amish grandfather had dark hair and a red beard. While yet a young man he developed an overactive thyroid and back in the day the only treatment was to take out part of his thyroid gland. This meant he had to have his beard completely shaved for the surgery. This was duly done, surgery completed; but when his beard grew back, it grew back white.
This has nothing to do with this thread but I've got to tell this story yet.....
Some years after his operation he was putting up some hay with the help of some of the local young roughnecks and they got to bragging about all the knife fights they had been in and how many times they had gotten cut up, etc. He let them talk awhile and then said, "Look here fellows". And he held up his beard, showing the thyroid surgery scar that stretched all the way across his neck. "I had a man cut me from ear to ear and I didn't move a muscle"! It sorta took the wind outta their sails.

I don't dye my hair, and I don't give a hoot what anybody else does about their hair color. I can think of a few other things more deserving of my attention. Such as Jesus' command to love my neighbor as myself.

My hair was blond and my beard was red when young. Both got darker. Now I can imagine that they've turned blond again. Some get that impression, but others just see gray. It wouldn't take much to give a blond impression, but... I like things natural.

There was a lady that used to attend our church, she had gotten gray at the age of 12 and dyed her hair up until she got married in her late 20's. I thought that was understandable that for a girl at that age to not want to have gray hair.
