Re: briar patch
One question I've had is how uniform the "Shippensburg type" churches are, which would include Chambersburg, St. Thomas, and ones that seem to sympathise with them, like City Light.

Re: briar patch
They are definitely independent from one another, and unique, even though they cooperate on things like children's ministry, homeless outreach, and the halfway house in Chambersburg. For example Chambersburg once removed its elder from his position for some odd reason or other, and he just went over to St Thomas and attends there. CCF seems a little more interested in adapting in order to do outreach, where SCF and St Thomas seem to be a little more content to basically be conservative Mennonites. I have friends and acquaintances in all three churches. They have a lot of similarities and some differences. I don't know as much about City Light.Josh wrote:One question I've had is how uniform the "Shippensburg type" churches are, which would include Chambersburg, St. Thomas, and ones that seem to sympathise with them, like City Light.

All right. I'll leave you to your little echo chamber. Let us know when you discover the solution to racism.Wayne in Maine wrote:At this point I would like to ask Ken and Bootstrap to refrain from posting to this discussion, as I do not want this topic to digress into merely a right-wing vs. left wing political fight, or, as I stated before "I would rather not get into a discussion of whether it is true or false, someone else can start that thread."

Re: The problem of racism
I think Wayne is asking us to participate in a thought experiment. If you don't want to participate, that's of course fine. And the thought experiment is not about discovering a solution to racism.Ken wrote:All right. I'll leave you to your little echo chamber.
