The hidden posts have been restored. I did not say Barnhart's was among them, but you may now peruse his insights.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Because of that, he can strike a peace plan in Gaza on the one hand, and on the other deploy troops on his own people in the same week. It’s mostly about power and transactional advantage, not moral leadership. He is not peace prize material as far as I’m concerned.
He’s not deploying NG to do anything but PREVENT killing and violence if you see what is actually happening. It may be you are not seeing the need to address the illegal immigrants, many of whom are criminals (one illegal was arrested in Portland the other day who is known pedophile) - so Trump is trying to keep peace and protect citizens too- I think everyone recognizes that except the far left. 2 people were killed the other day by someone trying to kill ICE servants- if anyone comes up with a better way to protect people speak to Trump- ANTIFA is on the move & so its imperative to protect people.
By this logic, any kind of military or violent police action is “peaceful.” Putin’s invasion could be called “peaceful” because it’s intended to prevent the expansion of NATO and to “prevent” Russia from being invaded.
No. President are called “Commander in Chief” for a reason-what are YOU doing to devote your life (unpaid like Trump) to promote peace and return hostages held 2 years back to their families? Even the one who actually did receive the Nobel peace price told Trump that he deserved it so I don’t expect everyone looked at it through the eyes of pacifist, but what he is doing to accomplish peace & safety. Jesus said we would always have wars and certainly when I read Revelations……….. God has not only commanded wars but we know how the end plays out until there is finally war no more. Trump (according to many world leaders) has done more for peace than any president but I know you won’t acknowledge that.

All the peacemakers I know use deal-making tactics to reach a compromise to create the peace. It involves listening and finding a solution all parties can accept. It involves getting the parties to drop their assumptions & getting them to see their own needs beyond the battle cries and political lies. Then being able to see and hear that the opposition is made up of humans who basically want the same thing. Peace, safety and prosperity.

So is there really a difference between a peacemaker and a deal-maker? My answer would be the peacemaker uses deal-making tactics to achieve peace. A deal-maker who’s just making deals for the sole purpose of profit is a businessman.

i’m with Robert in appreciating Trump’s consistent deep dislike of killing and war. It seems authentic and personal.
He’s older than i, he faced the Vietnam years and everything else IRT. He attended a military school. He likely knew peers and others killed in Vietnam. It’s impossible to describe those years. Trump is so unlike me or anyone i know, still, i sense his loathing of killing (his voice changes when he uses that word) is personal, unlike others, who make it largely about statistics.

In my view, he seems convinced that the most secure way to END KILLING, is for all parties to have a “stake in the game”.
That’s business, pretty well proven, not using business as a euphemism for evil.

He sees business as a useful tool for (i call it) RESOLUTION. Resolution doesn’t require anyone like the other.
It doesn’t require anything beyond all parties sticking to their agreements. Which, again, he believes is best secured with all parties having a stake in the game.

Earthly awards might use the earthly meaning of “peace”. Example: Nobel Peace Prize
i don’t object to the secular meaning for secular purposes. END KILLING.

Trump tends to be direct, abrupt. END KILLING is what he’s about. Not flowery, i appreciate it.
Yes. Please END KILLING.

Taking scriptures out of context is called proof texting, I see the same thing could apply to something like this post.
