8 no votes, and has there been a single explanation from a conservative person on why they voted no?

Soloist, bumping this up in case you missed it.Sudsy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 11:12 amSince I am not into identifying myself as a 'conservative' or a 'liberal' but rather as a Christian and I am not to participate in this thread in the poll or comments, I will ask a question.Soloist wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 6:41 pm If you identify as conservative feel free to answer the poll/post comments. As a general guide, conservative means that modesty, non-resistance, not swearing oaths, head covering, church authority, permanence of marriage and taking Jesus's teaching at face value.
I would prefer if nothing is debated and this is more or less just to gauge if there is considered to be value in it.![]()
What is meant by 'taking Jesus's teaching at face value' ? Is this the same as 'literally' or something else ?

Re: Conservative forum
I didn't miss it. We have discussed this before and the conclusions is that I'm wrong and you are wrong depending on who is answering.
I would simply say that the teachings of our Lord are meant to be lived out and that I believe the word of God from an uncomplicated interpretation and from this I speak. I'm paraphrasing Conrad Grebel here but in application that means when Jesus says divorce and remarriage is sin, I believe He meant exactly that. If you feel like debating my response, feel free to make a new thread but not here please.

Re: Conservative forum
My guess is the response would have been more one sided if you had to post your response

Re: Conservative forum
I would like a forum in which:
1. the main participants value modesty, non-resistance, not swearing oaths, head covering, church authority, permanence of marriage and taking Jesus's teaching at face value.
2. participants could rate other participants on their peacemaking abilities and the content they post. If someone dropped below a particular score, they would not be able to post as a main participant until the moderators decided to give the person another try.
3. all threads would defualt to only those participants who value the things in number one. If a thread author wanted input from a wide variety of perspectives, the author could uncheck a box and then anyone could post.
4. the author of a thread could move posts elsewhere that don't fit the sort of discussion he/she was wanting to have in that thread.
