How do you keep cats out of flowerbeds?

Post by Somebody »

Does anyone have ideas on how to keep cats out of freshly mulched flowerbeds?

In this case, it is a newly planted & mulched strawberry bed. I really don't want to be picking strawberries and finding half buried 'surprises'. :o

I really doubt there is a way~ unless you squirt them with water if & when you see them- they may quit coming around but other than that it's probably not possible- loose cats abide by no ones rules

Both. Spray the border of the flowerbed. If you can get close enough to a cat, spray them in the face.

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.

Some of you have really good ideas!

Some of the ideas my children will object to very strongly!

And we do have 2 dogs, neither really chase cats, unless there's a reason to. Like when the cat is trying to eat out of the dogs dish!! Or if the cats are fighting.
