Sorry Steve for participating beyond my original '2 cents worth'. These 'Progressive/Conservative' labels and the many splits in Anabaptism over this subject is a problem area for me. I will try to keep out of these sanctification differences in future posts.

I just attended my new home church, the Salvation Army, and need to refocus on evangelism. I had a good visit yesterday with the door-to-door Jehovah witness folks and mainly listened to them in their attempts to make me a convert. It is quite amazing to me that Christ followers can basically refer to the one book, the Bible, and from it, come up with so many variations of what to believe and practise. One thing we did agree on was the need to evangelize as Jesus followers.

This is my last post interfering with your thread. Have a nice day. Thankyou for your patience.

Engage in abusive behavior
Query: Physical abuse only? Or do you include verbal and emotional abuse as well?

The old woodcutter spoke again. “It is impossible to talk with you. You always draw conclusions. Life is so vast, yet you judge all of life with one page or one word. You see only a fragment. Unless you know the whole story, how can you judge?"

You're not interfering. Simply put, on many occasions I stand amazed at how threads become so derailed on MN. That said, I've been known to cause a few in my day....
