I've got no need to win in this argument but like Soloist I could see the rolls of barbed wire in the Google street view images. But that's OK, we're all allowed to be wrong once in awhile.MaxPC wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 10:50 amMost of my family say they do not see it and that you are now making up falsehoods because you have a desperate need to win. That is not very Anabaptist non-resistant in attitude. It is indeed a need to both win and to persecute women who pray which is a very dark anger. We will pray for you.

Maybe the links upthread aren't the best for viewing this (although the photos Ken posted at the top of page 5 are pretty clear). Try another one:MaxPC wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 10:50 amMost of my family say they do not see it and that you are now making up falsehoods because you have a desperate need to win. Zoom in to the left of the corner and you should be able to see the glass shards clearly on the top of the wall. Then look to the right, where the building is visible between the trees; is that not razor wire?

Where is this monastery? I know someone who will know if there's actually razor wire.Soloist wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 10:39 amMax, I suggest you get new glasses.MaxPC wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 10:34 amSticking to the topic of the Carmelite monastery: I do not see anything in the above photo that resembles sharp objects or razor wire. Nothing. I see trees and patches through the trees where there are details of the building. I think you are overreaching trying to protect Barnhart's claim. Both of you need to examine your inner anger and why you seek to derogate women who have devoted themselves to a life of prayer, especially in the light of the complaints about the crime in the adjacent park from other residents in the area.Soloist wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 8:34 am
Max, if those sharp objects are not glass or razer, then what are they? its pretty easy to see something on top of the fence.

Here is another view, certainly looks like razer wire to me.
Walls around convents and monasteries are designed for privacy and protection, especially those located in the cities. They have been built that way for hundreds of years. Defenseless women (many of whom are virgins) leading a life of prayer have long been targets of those trafficking in humans; as well as those who simply seek to destroy.
Edit: they did install razor wire if it's the one in Brooklyn. Which is closed.

Didn't imagine I'd find endorsement of state-sponsored religion in a forum full of CAs. Fascinating.RZehr wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 7:33 pmSounds fantastic. Should happen more. Today churches are closing.Szdfan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 7:22 pmThe opposite is true. As Christianity became the dominant religion of the Roman Empire, a number of early churches were built on the foundations of pagan temples.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 3:47 pm
No, I imagine their property got confiscated first before it got turned into pagan temples.

It is fascinating what all a person can find on here, but I think you have to squint real hard to read state-sponsored religion into RZehr's post that you quoted. I think a more logical interpretation is that he thinks Christianity ought to overcome the devil's haunts through the power of preaching, salvation and changed lives.Only an Anz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 12:12 pmDidn't imagine I'd find endorsement of state-sponsored religion in a forum full of CAs. I have personally walked by there many times...been in the park many times. Lived within walking distance. Harlan currently lives there. Any denial of barbwire and broken glass is puzzling. It's there...we know it is there.Only an Anz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 11:56 amWhere is this monastery? He was quoting a post explaining the Roman Empire's adoption of Christianity. Not much squinting needed.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 12:17 pmIt is fascinating what all a person can find on here, but I think you have to squint real hard to read state-sponsored religion into RZehr's post that you quoted.
