I think this poll suggests that people are beginning to recognize that Covid is no respecter of presidents, whether Biden or Trump.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
First line in the article “ Americans' trust in President Biden has eroded”. I know they are talking about the pandemic, but how much should we trust our politicians and how much can we trust them?GaryK wrote: ↑Tue Oct 12, 2021 6:39 am I think this poll suggests that people are beginning to recognize that Covid is no respecter of presidents, whether Biden or Trump.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
This letter by a chief medical officer, especially the paragraph about a dysfunctional government system, says a lot, IMO.

When the NYT is saying it...
An unvaccinated child is at less risk of serious Covid illness than a vaccinated 70-year-old.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
That sounds about right. Children are far more at risk of being vectors of the disease rather than to be hospitalized or die of it. That is how you get things like hundreds and hundreds of kids catching and spreading covid at schools across the south when they started this past August. The danger is more that it generates uncontrolled community spread of the disease including to vulnerable elderly and others, not that kids are at particular risk of dying. For example, Tennessee alone had over 400 different schools forced to close between August and September this year due to uncontrolled Covid outbreaks amongst school children: https://www.newschannel5.com/news/tenne ... l-closures By contrast, Oregon, which had much stricter mask requirements only had one school closure during the same time period and that was largely due to the incompetence of the school administration to do proper contact tracing than the size of the outbreak.nett wrote: ↑Tue Oct 12, 2021 2:34 pm When the NYT is saying it...

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
That's not at all true of basically every other disease we vaccinate children for, like measles or polio.
Or maybe it should simply be accepted as normal that kids are going to have colds and spread them. Everybody knows this and has always accepted it. This disease should be no different. That is how you get things like hundreds and hundreds of kids catching and spreading covid at schools across the south when they started this past August. Giving children a vaccine which will kill them more than the disease they're being vaccinated for seems unethical and wrong.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
Months back a BC doctor started testing his patients for small blood clots within a week after vaccinating them for COVID. The D-dimer tests showed 62% of his patients had some kind of clotting. Since he has had his license suspended because his own inquiry lead him to find that the vaccine could be causing tiny clotting in the smallest of capillaries in the lungs where the blood slows to gain oxygen and where many of the spike protein are being made as told by the mRNA. Dr. Hoffe admits he doesn't know for sure this is happening but had enough adverse reactions to the vaccine and people sick afterward he compassionately looked further.
You will not start to notice news articles with studies from places like the UK saying they are finding moderate COVID cases are testing high with D-dimer tests and this clotting is killing people. Whether it is the vaccine or COVID that is causing the clotting? - is the question that should be asked.
Health authorities have been saying people that are vaccinated only get mild or moderately sick and anything I've read oddly leaves out whether those people dying from moderate COVID are vaccinated or not... And whether it would be blamed on heart failure or some other health issue...

Royalty got it, movie stars, etc. Logically, people in the public arena, shaking hands, etc.
Early on, i wondered if this wasn’t at least part of the extraordinary response in D.C.? - The reality being, they, themselves, were at risk, being in the public and international arena, and many being of older age?
Their private jets and gated mansions were not enough to spare them from this one.
Interesting enough, there have not been as many deaths in high places as one might have guessed.
i expected Congress folks would be “dropping like flies.” Nancy+Chuck have been quieter.
i read (somewhere) that lots of Congress folks have used IVM. (i have no source. i don’t remember where i read this.)

Still posting easily manipulated numbers...mike wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 9:52 amHere is the chart you posted, with the footnotes which were not included in your screenshot.Grace wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 8:45 am I am not opposed to Covid Vaccines, but how can this be? In the UK the vaccinated cases are exceeding the unvaccinated cases in those over age 30 group.

Below are the next three charts in the report.
The study's findings are summarized in this chart.

Where we live if someone is vaccinated they are sent home and told to isolate and if they are unvaccinated they automatically get an overnight stay whether they need it or not. And furthermore if they don't stay at the hospital they are still counted and considered as taking up a hospital bed for 10 days if they are unvaccinated because they "might" end up in the hospital. So the extra footnotes you included are just fluff to manipulate the answer wanted - at least in the reality of where we live and not just believing what a person is subject to online.

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
The downtrend of the current wave of Covid is now quite obvious. One thing that stands out to me is that last year at this time we were already into the huge upswing of the very bad wave of Covid that peaked in January, while this year we are clearly on a downtrend. I think we will probably see another increase this winter but not like last year.
