Generally you don’t criticize the commander regardless of political views or beliefs.

The few who do generally get fired regardless of president.

That being said, criticism from military officers over this has happened so it ultimately comes down to which talking head you choose to listen to.
Myself, I look at the military assets they move into place, the main tactical uses and pretty much ignore what the talking heads claim.
