Will we still have organized fasts from CAM? will generous donors offer bribes that ultimately were useless? or will the silent group pray and silently God will work?RZehr wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 5:21 pm Not sure how much people are aware of this, but I heard that there has been another group of about 22 +/- people kidnapped in Haiti recently. Apparently one of them may be the spouse and/or child of one of CAM's Haitian employees there? I don't know much beyond that or if it is true.
For better and worse, international news coverage in the U.S. is virtually nonexistent, esp regarding Christian news, this was noted early in this thread. Many of us were surprised the CAM kidnappings were mentioned at all.
i first noticed this gaping hole in 1970-ish, as an older teen visiting Montreal. first travel, first international travel.
at that time, “all the news” in the U.S. was about Vietnam, and civil rights violence. lots of violence in the U.S. at that time.
i was horrified to visit Montreal, to see they were fiercely warring over language! it was quite a shock.
in 50+ years since, even with 24/7 “news” cycles, there is almost no change in mainstream coverage/content! loads of repetition!
there are problems/inconsistencies, not all due to lack of interest or hard hearts. imho.
presently, the example of the Trucker Convoy in Canada - ignored in the mainstream (in Canada and the U.S.) viewtopic.php?f=9&t=91&start=150 it’s amazing the power+control they have.
“for better and worse.”
involving the U.S. in “everything” isn’t any guarantee good will result. be careful what you wish for.
