2. Trump Derangement Syndrome

Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) is a pejorative term used to describe negative reactions to U.S. President Donald Trump that are perceived to be irrational and to have little regard for Trump's actual policy positions. The term has mainly been used by Trump supporters to discredit criticism of him, as a way of reframing the discussion by suggesting that his opponents are incapable of accurately perceiving the world.
It is also always taking anything Trump says or does in the most negative way then taking the statement or action to an outcome that has a very small chance of happening.
I think Mike's right here:

In other words, exactly like Republicans act toward Democrats.
How is this different from normal? There's an entire conservative media infrastructure that for decades has been dedicated to talking about Democrats and liberals in the worse possible way.
But Trump does say awful things all the time and it's not clear to me when I'm supposed to ignore him and when to take him seriously.
I heard a lady scream "I am loosing my rights!" This is just not true. No rights are being lost. AN adult can practice about anything that does not harm someone else. LBGT rights are not being taken away. They are just being put on par with other rights. Why does Pride month get a month? No one else does. "You" want a day, fine. Take a day, just not Easter. It is already taken.
Ok...let's talk about Easter 2024. I understand that lots of people are uncomfortable with any of LGBTQ visibility, but I'd like to know which of your rights was taken away when it shared the Trans Day of Visibility that year? How were you prevented from exercising your rights that day?
I think the outrage over this feels performative. The date for Easter changes each year, based on the first full moon after the spring equinox. Easter can happen anywhere between March 22 and April 25. TDOV, on the other hand, is fixed. Since 2009, it's always been on March 31. The "conflict" only happened because both those events coincidentally occurred on the same day.
So who here is asking for special privileges or rights?
- Is it the group who's commemorative day happens on the same day every year?
- Or is it the group whose day changes every year and demands that others accommodate it?
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless."
