Not to be unaware or to deny. Matt 10:16 / https://biblehub.com/matthew/10-16.htm

This is where i credit the longevity of Mennonites and others surviving unarmed in a violent world.
You can’t be stupid or asleep. Jesus warns.
I think somehow you’re missing out on the magnitude of good responses all over the country! It’s phenomenal, never saw anything like it! Praise and thanks be to God for all the young people that have given their lives to Christ and accrediting Charlie Kirk’s influence and hearing the Gospel from him.

Last night we watched the prayer vigil & memorial in Washington DC. To hear all the politicians declare their faith and boldness in Christ it’s was simply like nothing I’ve seen out of DC.

There’s been an increase of 32,000 requests for chapters of his organization the past 3 days across the country so let the protesters be their usual self, good is being glorified!
i think mostly on campuses!
this is where i see the possbility of Thomas Sowell becoming a household name.

egregious lib dominance may fade.
when God moves, big changes can happen quickly. beyond human imagination.

i pray for Jesus to be central, not government.
this was where the world went wrong in the 60’s. seeking after gov for answers. it began with good intentions, then hijacked.

from what i’ve heard of CK this week (i.e., very little) - he was careful to place his messages on God, first.
his desire was to be remembered as a Christian - above all - this is critical. and easily lost in noise.

i pray for Erika.
she will be tested hard. harder than CK.
she will need terrific faith and vision. at the time she least needs it.

P.17 has several worthwhile links to positives.
msm won’t air. remember how they efficiently ignore March For Life, year after year.
Charlie Kirk & many politicians are against what the colleges are doing to the minds of students- thus his attention on the campuses across the country as he saw the indoctrination of this evil generation. And speakers brought that up last night as they were turning youth away from God. I’ve seen it happen over & over. Charlie made such an impact.

I think we can see that on this forum. I didn’t go back and check. But did those on this thread who told others it was out of line to bring up anything negative towards Kirk right now, and implore everyone that “now is not the time”, also demand the same space towards Floyd in that thread?

I don't recall any negative on Floyd for quite some time other than discussion of the riots for quite some time.

I remember making the same request at the announcement of MaxPC passing away also.

Valerie: Yes.
As a general rule, esp state colleges morphed into places where “everyone’s children” were turned away from their families and churches (that sacrificed to get them there).

For myself, I marveled how foreign students were not as vulnerable! I saw many in my entire life attend state universities, leaving with original culture and faith intact!

It appeared to me what’s been going on.
It was ok for foreign students to respect their families+faith, not so for U.S. students. Bizarre, really.

Anyway.
Will we see a significant improvement?
I hope so. Past time.

Btw, I doubt there’s a 50/50 split in thinking.
I suspect that’s the wish of libs, not reality.
Esp outside voting. Many dont vote, for varying reasons.
I think the 50/50 claim is because an organized minority can appropriate unbalanced representation.

Not that I want conservatives to organize!
Conservatives are slow, that’s ok.
Better to be slow and unorganized than fall into organized traps.

Erika needs wisdom!
Temptations are great.

This is not a basketball game, tho I realize that’s what many want, many know little else. That’s a mistake.
Souls and eternity are not a bb game.

And here, "anything negative" seems to include the mission statement of the organization that sponsored the campus tour.

Also worth mentioning: the Nashville Covenant School shooting was on March 27, 2023. On April 5, 2023, about one week after that mass shooting, Charlie Kirk said this:
I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.
Killing these kids and killing Charlie Kirk are both horrible events. I don't think either is a prudent deal or rational. But if Charlie Kirk said that a week after a mass murder, maybe it should be OK to mention that a week after Kirk was shot.

It's hard to be consistent and fair. I think it's also important to recognize this: people across the political spectrum are grieving and anxious right now. I think people on all sides should be able to express that. But without going after Kirk or being disrespectful. I don't think quoting Kirk's own words, with care and in context, dishonors him. It remembers truthfully what he stood for.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

Maybe it would be helpful to have one policy we apply across the board.

My memory’s a little different than yours, but I don’t fully trust my memory either — this is the kind of thing that really takes time to look at carefully if we want to know for sure. In my experience, all of us have selective memories of past posts here. That definitely includes me.

Maybe so, but it hasn't been a week yet.

Anyone may not agree with CK’s cherry picked words, he had MANY words. These sure are favs of some to quote. On and off forum.

These are not evil words.

What words would Jesus quote from CK?

This is taken grossly out of context.

That would need to be done in the Politics section since it was an organization that dealt with politics.
