The old woodcutter spoke again. “It is impossible to talk with you. You always draw conclusions. Life is so vast, yet you judge all of life with one page or one word. You see only a fragment. Unless you know the whole story, how can you judge?"

CBS / France farmers protests see 79 arrested as tractors snarl Paris traffic
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/france-far ... l-traffic/
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/france-far ... l-traffic/
text continues ..Paris — French farmers angry over increased taxes and European agriculture policies they say threaten their livelihoods were on the roads well before dawn Wednesday, blocking highways and access roads to Paris. The protests, now about two weeks old, brought traffic to a standstill in many places as tractors blocked lanes or entire sections of highways for miles, and 18 people were arrested Wednesday.
The farmers remained determined to keep up pressure on France's government to change its policies, and there was no sign of an imminent end to their blockades encircling the capital. They advanced Wednesday toward Orly airport, south of Paris, and other major cities and towns, including Lyon in the east and Toulouse in the southwest. ..

If they are blockading a walled city and preventing any food from getting in, I suppose so.

It's the French. One thing the French frequently do is build barricades and protest.

The French actually love this sort of thing.
According to the news reports I heard, 90% of the population supports the farmers. These sorts of events are often like snow days for the French. Any excuse not to go to school or work!

Re: Paris Under Seige
Maybe.
In this case, and in others in other countries, including Canada, these folks are generally law-abiding, legal citizens, invested in their country, owning homes+businesses, growing and delivering essential food and goods, paying taxes, they contribute.
it’s not difficult to understand farmers+truck drivers are welcomed and valued.
