You can generally gripe to your insurance company to find you an equivalent car for sale at the price they claim your vehicle is worth. This may take some persistence but it's worth it. (Some auto dealers will assist in this process.)

Vehicles indeed are out of much of Gen Z’s price range, let alone the cost of repairs. Gen Z doesn’t have $40,000 lying around to buy a generic new car.

don’t forget about insurance. “the anxious generation” .. with good reason.

So. “What do we tell our children when” ..
i tell mine, “i’m deeply sorry,” and, “return to scriptures, where real answers are found.”

the problems of any given generation do not remain isolated, the burden affects all, order is confounded.

- - - - - - -

having said that, i didn’t drive until i was 19, a lot because i couldn’t afford a car, but, i didn’t want to drive early.
my grdaughter doesn’t want to drive, i support her 100% to take her time. she’s being pushed into it. i’m sorry to say.
she’s conscientious, can be anxious, and can have panic attacks. i’m with her to not rush.

the pressures on the young are over the top. i pray for them everyday.

My insurance rates keep going up up up.

My insurer lost $9 billion two years ago. They can’t offer us cheap premiums anymore. The rate of accidents has skyrocketed and the cost of body shops and so on has also skyrocketed.

If insurance was a good deal, it wouldn’t be necessary to pass a law to require it.

From an economic standpoint, mandated insurance isn't supposed to be a good deal for you, it is a societal benefit. Society acknowledges that automobile operation is dangerous and requires you to pre-pay for possible automobile damages if you wish to have the privilege of operation.

(Liability) insurance simply represents the cost of doing a particular thing. And apparently the cost risk of driving has gone way up.

Despite that, certain authorities try to claim there’s no inflation.
