This doesn't shock me. Our country has too casual of an attitude towards marriage.

My concern is the “slippery slope” that starts with the government saying it’s wrong to read a few Bible verses in public,
but then expands from there.

With other areas of modernity such as “marriage”, the level of state involvement has gradually increased over time,
until the state is redefining what it is.

There is no reason to think the state will not do the same and eventually claim jurisdiction over the Bible, too.

Indeed, as that old maxim reminds us “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

It’s far from a matter of avoiding the slippery slope; decades-on, it’s searching for the off-ramp.

From the map it looks like Christianity is pretty much the worst faith environment in which to foster 2-parent families. Pretty much every part of the non-Christian world including the atheist world does better.

You can see the same pattern within the United States itself. The Bible Belt where church attendance is the highest, and the highest percentage of the population identifies as Christian also has the highest rates of single parent homes. There are a lot of different maps out there examining this topic, but they all pretty much show the same pattern.

We pray for Africa as many of the most Biblically faithful Christian leaders hail from that continent. Those bishops consistently vote for Biblical marriage and Biblical fidelity within their respective denominations.
