It has nothing to do with the suspects immigration status.
He's 17, and apparently he's old enough to get a knife and stab a bunch of children with it.

It does appear he might be the child of "asylum seekers". I'm sure some of you will claim that makes him "British".
According to the NYT, the British authorities also stated that the supposed name and identity of the suspect that was circulating on social media was not correct.
Then the police could go ahead and tell us who the suspect is. I've never really bought into the whole "17 year olds are CHILDREN!!" schtick; if they're old enough to get a knife and stab people, they're old enough to be identified just like an 18 year old would be, particularly in a case of national (and international) importance like this.

But hey, if you have some kind of evidence he's from a 25th generation English-Welsh-Scottish family, go right ahead and share it with us.

I'm just pointing out that your censorship conspiracy theory is not correct. The NYT is also reporting that the British authorities are saying that the supposed name and identity of the suspect that is circulating on social media is not correct.

The complaint isn’t about naming names of minors but about hiding crimes to alter statistics.

There could be questions wrt minor citizen rights+protections versus non citizen.
Also wrt deadly crimes committed by minors and/or mentally ill.

There are ways to report honestly while protecting minors and other specific cases.

Sometimes crimes are so heinous minors are charged as adults.
There is a possible charge of being criminally insane, not confined by age.

^^Not a google search.
Josh:
"17 year olds are CHILDREN!!"
There are valid questions wrt defining minors crossing national borders.
In varying cultures, 16 might be living and behaving as a full legal adult.

As well, there have been cases of imposter adults posing as minors in high schools and other places - for valuable benefits.
With no documentation, how to prove?

I don't have any evidence of anything and neither do you.

In fact, I'm not sure why a murder in the UK has anything to do with France. What is the murder rate in the UK anyway, compared to say...Ohio?

Eyewitnesses and citizens making reports (via X, which doesn't have censorship) are evidence, actually.

I'm not aware of a particularly high rate of stabbings in Ohio, but we did have a rather brutal one a few months ago:

https://www.cleveland19.com/2024/06/04/ ... -examiner/

The boy died, the same age as my son, another 3 year old redheaded boy. It could have been my son. His mom was simply shopping at a grocery store during the day time. His name was Julian Wood.

The suspect is Bionca Ellis. Currently, her lawyers are trying a tactic of saying she's "not fit to stand trial". She had been arrested and released a week earlier ("catch-and-release", with no bail required) on shoplifting charges, including violating her probation. She appeared to show no remorse on court when bail was set (at $5 million, this time):

Image
During the court session, footage from WEWS captured Ellis with her hands cuffed behind her back, fighting back a smirk and smiling several times as the charges were read. She also whispered while answering questions and initially hung her head during the video conference arraignment.

At one point, Ellis giggled and responded with “si” when asked by Judge Nancy Russo if she planned to plead not guilty, later correcting herself to say “yes” after the judge pressed her.
I hope these kind of "random" stabbings don't increase.

So you can be better informed, the murder rate in Ohio is 8.5 per 100,000 compared to 0.99 for the UK which means that murders are 8.5-times more common in Ohio than in the UK.

So again, I'm not sure what relevance a murder in the UK has to do with France. The UK seems like a pretty safe place compared to the alternatives. In fact it is even twice as safe as Vermont which is the safest state in the US.

MEANWHILE, IN FRANCE

“Sorry is the hardest word for Paris Olympics organisers once again

“Sorry is the hardest word for Paris Olympics organisers once again as exaggerated excuses of rainfall are used to postpone triathlon events - with the River Seine STILL not safe to swim in, writes MIKE KEEGAN”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/olymp ... seine.html
Paris Olympics organisers continue to blame rainfall for the triathlon saga
The men's triathlon involving the River Seine was again cancelled on Tuesday
Thousands of ticketholders now face the prospect of not being able to attend

The reasoning stank almost as much as the scandal itself. ‘The equivalent of July rainfall fell in just 36 hours,’ Paris 2024 official Anne Descamps told reporters when asked why – once again – triathlon events in the River Seine were postponed.
.. Those present at a press conference at the media centre, were also asked if,
by choosing a river in which swimming had been banned for 100 years, they had put aesthetics above the athletes. .. :-|

Just a few observations.
1. French culture has been intentionally mocking Christianity since the French revolution when the masses reacted against an oppressive crown propped up by a complicit church. This should sound warning bells for Christian nationalists, Christian integrationist/integralists in this country, be careful of siding with powerful movements because the pendulum may swing back much harder and much sooner than you think. The revolutionaries threw the church officials out of the building and dressed a young girl in a crown and flowing robes, calling her the goddess of reason and set her on the alter in front. There is nothing new under the sun

2. Secularists and Neo pagans will be more reluctant to mock Islam. This is a good thing. It acknowledges at the root Christianity is fundamentally different than Islam which cannot bear mockery and easily supports holy war. Whereas the root of Christianity is a king who was willing to bear any amount of mockery while eschewing power and revenge. We should be honored they acknowledge the distinction.

3. We need to think of secular Europe as fertile ground for evangelism by the meek and humble. The fields are ready for harvest...

I'm not sure this is a valid understanding of Christian integralism. As I understand it, integralists think Christians (and by Christians, they mean "Catholics") should occupy the high offices of the land, such as distinguished professors, higher court clerkships, and so on so that they can influence the broader polity with Catholic principles, such as Catholic social teaching. I have a hard time seeing anything wrong with this. This is entirely the opposite of the idea of "siding with powerful movements"; rather, it is more of attempting to influence or even usurp powerful movements.

It is not, however, wrong to point out the hypocrisy of secularists who claim they are simply mocking "religion" but mysteriously never mock Islam.
3. We need to think of secular Europe as fertile ground for evangelism by the meek and humble. The fields are ready for harvest...
It isn't. It is some of the most barren ground you can find anywhere. My denomination has repeatedly tried to evangelise this area with no success.

We do now have 1 missionary couple in France, but that is mostly because there are so man non-French people there who are more open to hearing the gospel. (By "non-French", I mean people who aren't, well, French, that is, their ancestors come from a different people and land.) The same story is true in the Great Britain, where the only success from tract work and missionary activity has been non-British people. (And by "non-British", I mean people who aren't, well, Welsh, Scottish, or English.)

Western Europeans, simply put, seem to have inoculated themselves against Christ's gospel of peace. But don't take my word for it - go and spend a weekend passing out tracts and see who accepts them and who doesn't.

Regarding number 2 - This is a good thing? I don’t think that the take away will be what you posit at all.
