This seems to confirm what Dan was saying - all the protesters who were arrested were apparently from out of state.
Mayor Melvin Carter (D) said Saturday that all of the protesters who were arrested in his city the previous night were from out of state as demonstrations in and around Minneapolis over George Floyd’s death descended into violence.

Carter said there was not a high number of arrests in St. Paul on Friday night due in part to a curfew but suggested that out-of-staters were behind much of the agitation fueling the violence.

“Because we had a relative stillness in St. Paul, we didn’t make an enormous number of arrests, but every single person we arrested last night, I’m told, was from out of state. What we are seeing right now is a group of people who are not from here,” Carter said at a press conference.

“As I talk to my friends who have been in this movement for a very long time, who wake up in this movement every day, and I ask them what they’re seeing, what they’re feeling, what they’re hearing, to a person, I hear them say, ‘We don’t know these folks. We don’t know these folks who are agitating. We don’t know these folks who are inciting violence. We don’t know these folks who are first in to break a window,’” he added.

The remarks come as protests across the country over Floyd’s death turn violent, with demonstrators vandalizing buildings and businesses in several cities.

I couldn’t get a clear look at the video, but in think they wear veils, not caps. Has anyone else seen the video or know what church they’re from? I thought of Elmendorf, but they didn’t quite look Hutterite. I’ll see if I can find a link.
The best information I’ve seen is that they are Church of God, Reformed — one of the Holiness groups.
Church of God Restoration - I know them well. Been to a few of their international Camp-meetings.

Someone posted this on my own facebook page- I guess because I'm known for liking Amish/Mennonites but I didn't think they were either.

Interesting approach, not sure what to think of it- of course it will be brought up that they are not wearing masks or social distancing. Probably somewhere.

These 'organized' riots are pretty obvious to most people.

In my town today, I worked, had the same black & white customers as usual- we all get along just fine with mutual respect, the police are known to be wonderful, helpful, take children of low income families Christmas shopping every year. Went to our truck stop after work to eat- blacks & whites all getting along, no presence of any problems between us all.

I can thank God I live in an area where it is primarily white population but we just don't seem to make distinctions between us, at least not that's obvious to me. My Church is very diversified and all colors & many countries represented.

There is an agenda to divide us. The father of lies is also the divider of people.

Evidently, the 80% non-Minnesotans who were allegedly arrested In the Minneapolis riots the last few days may have been a “convenient fact.” According to the Washington Post:
  • But according to local officials, most people arrested in protest-related incidents were state residents.

Of the 57 people arrested through Saturday morning, 47 (82 percent) provided a Minnesota address to authorities, said Jeremy Zoss, a spokesman for the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. Most of them gave addresses from Minneapolis and St. Paul, according to data provided to The Washington Post. The 10 other people arrested were from another state or the state wasn’t provided, Zoss said.

This is not what I said.

He has been in the position for 1.5 years. I would think that would be time to make sure the administration and vision of the Police force would not be racist. This does not mean they have ferreted it out of every officer. This does mean that someone at the top should be awake to the needs of this issue.

If this officer had 18 complaints against him and nothing was done, then it is not administrative racism, but poor administration. There is no reason why larger city police forces should have any systematic racism in it. They have plenty of staff and resources for training and clearing out the bad actors.

I have been watching a lot of videos of minorities who have been stopped and filmed their stops. It would appear that they are being targeted, but I have seen many whites stopped and harassed just as bad. I think we have a law enforcement culture that thinks it can do anything. They do need a strong reminder that there are civil rights which are clear limits to their power and authority.

But what if the same thing happens in Baltimore, NYC, Ferguson, St. Paul MN, Oakland, and a hundred other cities around the country. Why the resistance to calling it racism?
