Yes, but one could do that and still say "I don't follow them."

But you can't follow mike on Twitter without an account. It's not possible. You can search for him, but when you click the Follow button you have to log in or create an account.
i guess i got the idea to not follow because boot used to post all kinds of things he didn’t like on twitter.
If boot doesn't like something I'm not sure why he would post it on Twitter, or why you would see it if he did. But if you were following him, you could simply Unfollow; no need to delete your account because of one person's tweets. Strange.
All you have to do is bookmark each person you want to “follow”. No account needed.

See, Valerie? i’ll try again.
Understanding, with the internet, there are now some added uses for the word, “following.” It’s fair to want clarity.

1) i do not have a twitter account
2) i don’t visit twitter (except perhaps to read some specific post i might find on this forum)
3) i don’t follow anyone on twitter (social media definition of follow, and/or original)
4) i have no idea if boot is on twitter. (in the past, he brought various Trump-tweets to MN he disliked) i recommended he stop viewing twitter. “life is good - without twitter.” i read boot’s posts because i “follow” GaryK and some others on MN. i informally follow a number of MN members (original use of “follow”).
5) mike shared that he is on twitter, i haven’t followed him there, i follow his posts on MN. when he posts twitter items on MN,
i read those. same with some other MN members.
6) somewhere, Robert described a shorter description of his use of twitter. i’m probably much like him in that way.
7) i don’t know what my twitter future will be, i have no plans to change anything.

Ah. So turns out that the Democrats were incorrect about what Musk would do on this issue?

I have no idea what you are talking about. Which Democrats and what were they incorrect about?

Ok. Do you have a suggested wording? i was attempting to respond to Ken’s input in this topic.
i believe every one of his posts has been unrestrained lampooning of EM.

i’m no particular fan of EM. my sense of him has always been he is an eccentric genius of some description, a mixed bag.
This topic wasn’t intended to provide a space to bash him.

I don’t remember. I’m mostly trolling. I think I remember reading all the news sites saying how he wasn’t going to monitor anything, and let anyone post anything, and it would simply turn into a free for all because he bought it.

I don’t actually care. I’m just taking a cheap shot here.

Sure, here's some suggested wording - you could say "That's interesting. It does seem like the kind of thing that an eccentric genius or a mixed bag might do."
