My understanding is that they are trying to lay down their enemies' lives, not their own lives.

You and they are welcome to make that case to your Creator in the judgment. You all don't answer to me.

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.

If they gotta have war, why not let the aggrieved parties fight man-to-man instead of sacrificing the lives of the thousands of soldiers who have no real argument with the enemy other than that they happen to be under the wrong leader.
"Older men declare war. But it is youth that must fight and die." U.S. President Herbert Hoover

In the past there have been leaders who led their armies from the front. Alexander the Great, Julius Ceasar, Genghis Kahn, George Washington, George Patton. I hate war and I don't see any point in it. But I admire men who don't hide and put others at risk.

It is wrong for Hamas military people to hide in civilian areas. But somehow it is ok for leaders of modern countries to sit in comfortable rooms "watching a TV show" while innocents around the world get killed in collateral damage, as a result of these leader's choices. I guess they figure it is survival of the fittest?
Come you masters of war
You that build the big guns
You that build the death planes
You that build all the bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks...

You fasten all the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you sit back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
While the young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good?
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could?
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul...

Your ancestors fled for safety to America yet you criticize a people who have suffered horrid deaths under a very evil regime-
My Creator the Scriptures say is a God of War, if we make it through till the time of Revelations, just watch Him.

President Trump was one of the wealthiest people in our country.
This is silly. He has so many thanking him right now and here are a group of Mennonites who have no problem letting an entire country continue to suffer & die by a regime you cannot relate to at all as everyone sits judging in their comfy cozy homes.
My father served this country. To help other countries and guard our freedom.
My brother served this country to help other countries and protect your and my freedom.
My son served this country risking his life to help other countries and protect our own.

I can assure you, they don’t look at it like that songwriter who knew nothing about serving but lining his own pockets criticizing those who were protecting his freedom of speech.

One of the things my ancestors fled was compulsory military service.

That’s fine. I’m glad they enjoyed living in a free country that does cost others for it to remain so. Volunteers.

I’m unaware of Dubai or Qatar lobbing random missiles at Iran.

“We” don’t need to replace it. The Iranian people certainly can do so though, and have already demonstrated plenty of resolve to do so.

They don’t have to. The US is doing it for them.
