I hope I am not gravedigging this thread.
I want the thoughts of the anabaptists in this thread on that.
I will say the Methodist Church I go to will be gone in only about 20 years or less with how many elderly go there.
About the grow of mennonites and amish through birth rate yes i think that's how new members are made not really a significant percentage is made through conversion
Regarding the general decline of Christianity, it seems to me that it's a more European phenomenon than an American one, perhaps in very liberal churches (those that support abortion and gay marriage). There will be a significant reduction because it's an incoherent opposition, and people tend not to tolerate cognitive dissonance for long.
I don't remember the name of the book or writer, but back in the Roman era, a typical Christian converted 1 person over the course of their lifetime. They also would have on average 6 kids per family (so 3 kids per person). This was a sociologist exploring how Christianity grew so quickly during the Roman era when Roman society was otherwise in decline.
If each of us took responsibility to win 1 convert for Christ over our lifetimes... is that not a reasonable, achievable goal? And then the rest of our focus should be on raising godly families.

Wow really interesting yes the Lord command us to spread the gospel and win souls to christ it's really reasonable to win at least 1 soul during our life time
