Not surprising. Patriarch Kirill and the Russian Orthodox Church's support for the war had deepened the split with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The move by Ukraine to de-Russify themselves is completely understandable under the circumstances. I've read about how Ukrainian Russians are switching from speaking Russian to speaking Ukrainian.

Crazy.
Russia added $600 billion of total wealth, the Swiss bank found in its annual Global Wealth Report, published Tuesday.

The number of Russian millionaires also rose by about 56,000 to 408,000 in 2022, while the number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals — people worth over $50 million — jumped by nearly 4,500.

But the US lost more wealth than any other country last year, shedding $5.9 trillion, while North America and Europe combined got $10.9 trillion poorer, UBS reported.

There were also 1 million fewer American millionaires by the end of 2022, although the US still accounted for over 50% of the world's ultra-high-net-worth individuals, the bank said.

Crazy. And worse than crazy. Strategically self-destructive, suicidal, “we are our own worst enemies.”
Not based on selfless Christianity .. self-loathing as ritual and greed of a few are factors. Those are not Jesus’ messages.
Egos. Eliminating God for love of self.

Wholesale for-profit abortion must be the central indicator, military action not comparable in violence, death toll, damage to earth.
The numbers are staggering. It’s a form of physical and cultural suicide, in addition to immediate homicide.

Evil lies.

How can this be true regarding Russia when the ruble has taken a tumble?

Ok, so this is for 2022. Wonder where they stand now?

It probably depends on what they are defining as "wealth."

In point of fact, the US GDP and per-capita GDP outstripped Russia in 2022 and is doing the same thing so far in 2023.

They might be referencing the fact that the S&P 500 was down by about 18% for 2022. Which on paper meant that the market capitalization of the US stock market declined. But it is up about 15% so far in 2023. Which just means that stock prices go up and down. None of that is money actually lost until people go to sell their stocks.

Here is Russia

Here is the United States for the same time period.

Also understand that because the per-capita GDP in the US is about 7-times larger than that in Russia, that means that the same percentage increase actually produces a 7-times larger wealth gain in the US compared to Russia.

For example. The per-capita GDP in the US is about $70,000. That means a 2% increase results in actual gains of $1400 (2% x $70,000)
Whereas because the pre-capita GDP in Russia is about $10,000 that means a 2% increase only results in actual gains of $200 (2% x $10,000)

For wealth in Russia to actually increase by the same amount as in the US they would have to see annual GDP gains of 14% just to keep pace with a GDP gain of 2% in the US. Otherwise they are just falling further and further behind.

It is very easy to lie or deceive with statistics.

My pocketbook says US economy sucks. Is Russia worse? No. You can’t complain about inflation if you couldn’t afford it anyway
(Yeah Russia likely is worse for the commoner)
(Both countries war industry is likely doing well)

As-is everyone’s pocketbook i know and read about.
It’s amazing what can be done with propaganda, nearly convincing. Then, stop to buy food. Reality bites.

Reports are people are, 1) spending savings if they had it, AND 2) relying on unsecured credit for basics.
3) Retireds are told to spend whatever equity they might have in their homes, if any. Then what?

Nice.

Keep smilin’, joe. That “winning” betraying smile.

Russia has a median annual income of $5,504 which comes out to $459 per month or $2.86 per hour.

But yes, unemployment is low because they have a labor shortage due to conscripting half their youth into the meatgrinder that is the Ukraine war and seeing a million more flee the country.

Whether you think that is better or worse than the US depends I guess on your own personal circumstances.

Income doesn't matter by itself and is a pointless number unless you also show cost of living. Either way, I'm sure the common Russians are worse off then us
