Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
I think I am funnier than I really am.

Cutting firewood, growing food, putting up a fence to keep in farm animals, homeschooling as usual, fixing old faucets, trying to patch up the woodstove, cleaning up all the garbage we got from buying this property, tilling in compost and prepping the garden, cleaning the chicken coop, canning stock, fixing old vehicles - as well as an old house(s), shop, outbuildings... I am busier now than when I had a job... When they try to call me back to work I might be too busy...mike wrote:The non-essential folks have no excuse not to be all over MennoNet! That sounds like an ideal life. I could pretty easily be talked into trading that for the craziness of my job the last month.Wade wrote:Cutting firewood, growing food, putting up a fence to keep in farm animals, homeschooling as usual, fixing old faucets, trying to patch up the woodstove, cleaning up all the garbage we got from buying this property, tilling in compost and prepping the garden, cleaning the chicken coop, canning stock, fixing old vehicles - as well as an old house(s), shop, outbuildings... Today it’s too windy to do field work, so we’re having an off day.Wade wrote:Cutting firewood, growing food, putting up a fence to keep in farm animals, homeschooling as usual, fixing old faucets, trying to patch up the woodstove, cleaning up all the garbage we got from buying this property, tilling in compost and prepping the garden, cleaning the chicken coop, canning stock, fixing old vehicles - as well as an old house(s), shop, outbuildings... Tomorrow we’re buying panels and expanding the goat pen. One of the goats had kids last month and it’s getting crowded.
Today I’m baking sourdough bread for the first time.

Re: Are you out there, Temp?
Szdfan- I used to make sourdough weekly when I homeschooled the kids- too many years ago. Then stopped awhile then picked it up- got a started. I finally froze the starter and my son tried to make his own, didn't work so gave him mine. Hoping it works. I froze before and it worked. My oldest and youngest grandchildren enjoy baking, esp the 4 y/o and their father is enjoying making bread and sticky buns with them.
Hope you are successful. I used to do sour dough pizza crust, rye bread, and even tried waffles and pancakes.
Enjoy

Thanks! I hope so too. I struggle in the kitchen department, but I’m hopeful it will turn out. I guess now is a good time to try new things!QuietlyListening wrote:Szdfan- I used to make sourdough weekly when I homeschooled the kids- too many years ago.
