Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. You can keep a month's days straight by the old rhyme,
"Thirty days hath September,
...All the rest I can't remember."
Today .. i had the extremely unpleasant task of admitting i’m in no position to help a neighbor in need with an expensive home repair. the situation has made it clear to me i can’t afford to live. not here. where? i do not know. “i can’t afford to live.” is pretty much a complete sentence.
i dedicated much of December to trying to figure out how to get through 2022. this added expense just reflects how bad things are.
i would have to borrow to help my neighbors. that seems irresponsible. my pride doesn’t want to admit reality.
rents are high, getting higher. crime is up+worsening, so, location is an even greater factor. location=$$$
i would feel much better if i could believe my situation is unique. unfortunately, i’m pretty sure it’s common.
i have no confidence Congress spending TRILLIONS will help any of us. “how much worse?” seems a more fitting question for them.
i have faith God will provide. i’m praying for my neighbors, and all of us. there are others helping them, praise God. i’m praying for all involved. (i believe) it/they will be ok. i hope. my pride is hurt.

Praying is the FIRST/BEST thing we can do, anything after that is what God provides for us to give into the circumstances. We may not have the withal to "do" something, but God has let us know so that we can lift them up in prayer or perhaps be a conduit for someone else who has the resources to help in a material way. Lay aside the pride...it serves no purpose for you or your neighbor. Been there, done that, learned the lesson the hard way.
Blessings for the New Year, Em. May God take you to the place you want and need to be in the very near future.
I'm really sorry temp1..."I cannot afford to live" is such a powerful statement and I very much wish I had some words to say and make it better and I do not.

thank you for reading, george. i believe you are correct.
i never had it hit me just like this. a neighbor contacted me yesterday, explained what happened, what was hoped for, it was all so logical and easy, not a vast sum. in the hours following, tho, i had to face reality. then i realized what a prideful thing this was for me. at a time like this! that was not where i wanted to be. eventually, i gave my response. and apology.
This is the SARS that never ends
Yes it goes on and on my friends
Some people started hyping it Not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue fearing it forever just because

It’s part of what should be expected when gov is involved.
Careers are established.
Problems aren’t “fixed” - careers establish chronic problems. “Fixing” ends careers. People fight for their way of life.
Gov normalizes+funds what is otherwise unsustainable. (PP was about to die a natural death before gov stepped in.)
So. yeah. i believe there is ample reason to suspect this is a new normal. when Congress commits TRILLIONS - LOOK OUT!
i dread what is sure to follow. incompetency+corruption on a new scale.

i don’t believe i heard it. our static-y TV maybe had 1 channel, this was not it. but ..
i have begun thinking of years in time as BP/AP - Before Pandemic/After Pandemic.
even on this forum, posts prior to December 2019 reflect a different time+place on earth. i’m sorry to say.
the TRILLIONS likely guarantee no hope of going back.
