I drove by a pharmacy yesterday advertising “Narcan nasal spray”.
Sorry, but no. If someone overdoses on illegal dangerous drugs, they shouldn’t be resuscitated. We do NOT need to make taking massive illegal drug doses “safer”.
That does not sound Christlike to me.
Actions have consequences. I don't have a responsibility to install nets around the Grand Canyon in case people decide to jump off of it.
The reason Narcan is even needed is because drug addicts try to get the best "high" by taking the highest possible dose of fentanyl or heroin or whatever. If they hear that other people have died of an overdose of drugs from a particular dealer, they will try to buy drugs from that dealer, because it means the drugs he is selling are particularly strong.
I do not see anywhere in the NT that being "Christlike" includes accommodating people who decide to indulge in drug addictions. Every drug addict has the option to stop using and seek help.
The stories I hear from EMTs is often of drug addicts who are abusive after they administer life-saving Narcan because they just had a really good "high" interrupted. Sorry, but such people are not worth expending life-saving measures on. There are plenty of other people in need of help would would appreciate a first-world professional EMT and pharmaceutical supply chain much more.

Would Jesus save a druggie? Or let them die?
May we do as Christ has shown and taught irregardless of what others may say.
He called all sinners and demon-afflicted people to follow him, but he didn't try to set up safe, comfortable opium dens, which is what widespread distribution of narcan amounts to.

Luk 9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
Luk 9:56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

Actions have consequences. Jesus had no responsibility to make it physically impossible for people to sin.
The reason Jesus' death is/was necessary is because people are proud, want to do things their own way, and reject obedience to God, instead trying to satisfy themselves with sin. If they hear that other people are getting thrills and satisfaction by engaging in particularly depraved behavior, they will copy that behavior. People will sometimes become verbally or even physically abusive to those who share with them the fact that they can be saved and change their life. In fact, men actually crucified Jesus because they were so opposed to his message.

If it is your child you might feel differently. And wish that you had Narcan available. Or hope/pray that someone else like an EMT might resuscitate them if they are outside of your control. And not every OD is some hard core junkie. Maybe your kid was just messing around and got into the wrong stuff at a party or something. Kids can do stupid things. Even Anabaptist kids from the "best" families.
Everyone everywhere is someone's child.

I find it interesting a consensus is building here that society should make it easy for addicts to chase the best “high” at great risk to their own life.

Some call for the death of the wicked in this life and rejoice when they die. Some call them to repentance and rejoice when they turn from their sin.
I don't rejoice at all when people do things like ride motorcycles without helmets, whilst drunk, and crash, overdose on drugs, or all manner of other reckless types of things. Yet these things do happen.
Nonetheless, I don't see anything in scripture that says I have to make the world somehow safer for people do reckless, sinful things. In fact, I would say we have an imperative to do the opposite.

It is sort of like the consensus that hospitals should still admit patients dying of COVID even if they were too foolish to get themselves vaccinated.
And the consensus that ambulances should still take you to the hospital after a highway wreck even if you were too foolish to wear a seatbelt or motorcycle helmet. Or were driving some black Amish buggy at night without flashers and a visible reflective warning triangle.
We save people from their bad decisions and foolishness all the time.
