i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Re: omnium-gatherum part deux
i’m not complaining.
March: Jones fracture, broken foot bone, latest X-ray shows 100% healed. (Doctors warned it might not ever heal.)
September: eye surgery. latest exam, greatly improved, new glasses ordered. much needed.
December: angiogram, no stent needed. i expected 1. i hoped not more. pleasantly surprised. (my younger brother had 3 last year.)
^^2024 was eventful, i think i did as well as possible. hoping for an uneventful 2025.

Thinking out loud.
It takes a special gift, or perhaps curse, to be at odds with GaryK.

That moment i realized,
as awful as i am, without conscious effort, in my small family .. i’m the least-worst mother-in-law.
i was so fortunate. great mother. great mil. i’m doing the best i can in memory of them.

Meditations
by Marcus Aurelius
Breakfast with Seneca: A Stoic Guide to the Art of Living
by David Fideler
For years my grdaughter+i read together over the phone. Daily or frequently.
Starting with a preschool daily devotions book, going through much of the Bible, and lots of books.
i continue to send her books now+then, “everything” from children’s books to .. the latest books (above). Ancient Rome.
i tell her i’m not a book snob, i enjoy children’s books today as much as i ever did.
read everything!
enjoy the artwork!
no apologies!
She just got the above books, i asked her to read the first pages.
i enjoy that. i’m going to request she read a page or two to me again. she’s so busy! it’s a little thing. i hope she agrees.
it might be as therapeutic for her as me. the world pushes so hard. i’m opposed to so much pushing / viewtopic.php?t=8056

interesting perspective. children are usually overlooked in history.
we’ve been talking about the universal nature of babies (and children).
how, no matter how far back in time, or location, the needs of infants and children, is the same.
tech has changed, science+medicine have changed. humans have not.

It might be on disk in the wayback machine. I don't think it's actively collecting web pages anymore, but things from earlier times are still stored there...temporal1 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2016 2:39 pm to begin, isn't it odd that MD is gone, yet, searching/googling thread topics brings results?
MD doesn't open, but, the subject line appears. some searches bring a bit of detail about the thread.MennoDiscuss.com • View topic - Omnium-gatherum
