It's a new purchase, bank repo rehab and flip project my sons and I are doing.
A great way to make memories with your boys and pass on some good experiences at the same time.

it sure is. like their RV project, too.
when our children went to college they were stunned to find others who didn’t know how to replace a light bulb in a lamp!

our son lived with a group of guys in college who mismanaged their food budget - they were weeks without a cook or food! he was able to cook for himself. the guys smelled that food and offered to pay him to cook for them! not to mention his help keeping their cars running.

it’s hard to imagine raising a family without teaching them how to manage.

I think my wife and kids planted too soon. It will be a month before these can go in the ground, at least.

I replaced a leaky kitchen sink shutoff valve with great fanfare this morning...First time turning the water on in the house it blew the new valve completely off and soaked the kitchen sink cabinet, all while my wife and son-in-law were yelling at me over the cell phone...
All is well that ends well...

i miss the fainting icon.

Yesterday .. i called my grdaughter in WA who was alone making “scratch” blueberry muffins.
Something AWFUL happened. The electric oven must have shorted somehow, it arced, flash+fire! Scared her terribly.
She turned the oven off, ran to the neighbors, thankfully, they were home.
They flipped the breaker switch. mom returned. thankfully to a living daughter.

i’m not sure what happened or how this will go. i’ll hear about it.

i feel like calling the fire department to ask if they would talk to (them) about how to handle electrical emergencies.
the dept is nearby.

i’m uneasy that she tried to turn off the oven. was that safe? could she have been electrocuted?
the whole thing is scary. i would have been as scared as she.

we need to learn some things. :-|
