If you want to redefine politics for you to mean "everything is political", you can do that - just don't be surprised when other people disagree that, no, their choice of whether to take a shower in the morning or the evening is not a "political act".
Likewise, choosing to have our family devotions in the morning or the evening is not politics.
When I attended church on Sunday, it was not a political act.
Accepting Christ and becoming born again is not a political act.
Choosing to be baptised, or baptising someone, is not a political act.
Running for office is politics. Voting is a political act.
Is Jesus for “Law & Order?”
Re: Is Jesus for “Law & Order?”
If the political influence you are referring to comes about by the church simply following the ways of Jesus and His teachings, I don't have a problem with it. I believe Jesus' ways will influence societies in a good direction and one of the outcomes will probably be that it will have a good effect on earthly politics as we know it today.
I do hesitate embracing the idea that the church should be trying to influence certain political outcomes through lobbying the powers that be or through protesting what earthly governments do.
