A wise president surrounds himself with people who disagree with him, as well as people who agrees with him.
My impression is that people who disagree with the president get fired or quit and at this point he is like Rehoboam.
Our country seems to be following 1 King’s 12 pretty closely.
So of course, his advisors all agree with him.

I can’t name them but I will tell you what, those who agree with him and give excellent narrative why, make a whole lot more sense than those who oppose him. Do you ever stop and think what kind of a leader Kamala Harris would’ve been? I mean I watched her interviews to this day and it just makes my head shake so so thankful she did not become our president.Soloist wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 10:52 amWho disagrees who is still working for him?Valerie wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 10:34 amThey don’t “all” agree with him.Soloist wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 10:15 am A wise president surrounds himself with people who disagree with him, as well as people who agrees with him.

I’ve had the news on as I’m doing laundry and someone who was on just listed many of his accomplishments- SO many but I was busy in the laundry room.

I’d hazard a guess we wouldn’t be in a conflict with Iran if she was elected.

Of course they make sense to you, since you already agree with him. Confirmation bias.
Tsk, such misplaced priorities. How can you gain an understanding of what's going on in our country if you skip the news? Dash out of the laundry room and get a fresh start on the news so you can launch another salvo at the poor underinformed Mennos on this forum who pay too much attention to their own biz (or, sometimes, laundry) and not enough to what Trump is doing.I’ve had the news on as I’m doing laundry and someone who was on just listed many of his accomplishments- SO many but I was busy in the laundry room.

^^My view of the DNC, or former DNC, put in the full light of day in 2016 when Trump won.Soloist wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 10:15 am A wise president surrounds himself with people who disagree with him, as well as people who agrees with him.

The astonishment in the elitist bubble, hillary-down, was palpable. You nailed it.
Wrt presidents in general, it’s logical+understandable they want and need supporters to attempt to (survive).
i completely agree, it’s ludicrous to ignore opposition, esp in close votes.
A close vote basically tells you, half those voting are against you. It’s foolish to ignore it. As hillary proved for all time.
Should have, anyway.
Wrt Trump.
Well, in my mind, President Trump is probably THE SINGLE MOST-ADVISED MAN that ever existed.
Day in, day out, for 10 years. Advice doesn’t take a rest.
i’m not looking them up, i recall Marco Rubio and JD Vance going crossways with him at times.
i admit wondering how that would go? They remain in place. i don’t recall Byron Donalds protesting anything? i’m not sure.
Suffice it to say (from Seat 33F) presidents/leaders universally surround themselves with majority supporters.
i’ll add, with the U.S. system of 4-8 years max in office, this is a small window of time to accomplish anything.
Most do a lot of nothing as they bide their time in office, kicking cans down the road.
This is where “the glory” is for them. Optics.
T is likely a Type A personality, he drives himself and others.
T has learned, good, bad, indifferent, his opposers AND msm respond with their steady The Daily Scream, he has little or no motivation to avoid risk-taking, as far as they’re concerned. However, with his supporters, risks may result in great rewards.
Wrt Iran, i’m not sure, but my guess is, he’s TRYING to PREVENT another 9-11-2001, or worse. He was in NYC at the time, within 4 miles of The Towers.
He was some older than me during Vietnam. i believe he hates violence and wars. i believe he sincerely wants resolution in Ukraine and Iran. i believe both situations bother him a lot.
It’s now known that much was known before 9-11-2001, possibly enough to PREVENT it. Political suicide. i know that, for sure.
Trump wants to prevent another 9-11-2001 / or worse. He’s taking that risk. And paying political hell for it.
i’m not sure he would change anything if he had a do over. i don’t know. i do not know.
i continue to pray for resolution in Ukraine and Iran.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

o.i guess you’re thinking of hillary.
i wasn’t at all interested in Trump before his surprising 2016 election.
my first response was, “o.no. here come N Korean bombs.”
In reality, his first term had the least military engagement in my life. Welcome surprise.
Not to mention an optimistic economy. Until the chaotic pandemic. That mess is still being sorted out.
“Best thing” out of the pandemic was lots of people were seriously introduced to home schools and private schools, charter schools.
Iran?
i don’t know. Reports are, all politicians saw TROUBLE on the horizon with Iran.
Now doing their fav thing, fence-sitting, accusing, whatever they sense is politically useful in the moment.
My memory’s not so bad i’ve forgotten the painful o’biden-harris-mayorkas years.
Please, never again for that!
i expect the odds of 9-11-2001 style attacks has decreased. hope so.

I don't know who he asked besides Netanyahu, but what he did not do was ask for the support of Congress nor international allies.Valerie wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 9:21 amDo you actually know he was not given any advice? I for one head a lot of people he surrounds himself with (staff) that were in full support & I STILL watch interviews of those in full support. Just wasn’t sure where you got the information he did this without any advice.barnhart wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 8:56 am If the the US can wrangle a deal that approaches or exceeds the JPOA, I will give the credit to the president. If not, the credit for that belongs to him as well. This was his decision. He did not ask for advice or consent from Congress or senior military nor did he coordinate with allies, except Israel.

I do not care that Mennos don’t watch what will help them gain more information, knowledge & understanding of our government and listen/watch the myriads of people explaining and trying to enlighten - but it’s weird to expect people with limited access to it to speak as if they know and make comments which are obviously incorrect at times.ohio jones wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 12:10 pmOf course they make sense to you, since you already agree with him. Why bother engaging at all? Is it really that self satisfying to make futile guesses and arguments?
