My son will soon be moving from So Cal to Michigan.
Driving a UHaul, towing a car. Stops in Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, maybe Illinois, then Holland, Michigan.

Part of my mind understands this. A large part isn’t there.
Last night he told me he feels the same. He has been on the west coast since he graduated, 2007.
It seems so much longer than that. He’ll be 4 hours’ drive away.

He has been working remotely. So, he will continue working remotely.
He’s unsure of how this will work out over time. i encouraged him to be grateful for the present, NOBODY knows what’s ahead. i hope it works for him and employer.

i hope he can manage with winter.

Armstrong austic tiles. We got 5 boxes at half off because they were all damaged. I ended up with 2 pieces left. Will have to order 24 more to finish it.I was able to sort out and use all the damaged tiles on the edges so I had no loss.

I have to do a little caulking since a few were damaged and was able to use them, then paint it all. Should turn out really good when done. Can't beat the price. :)

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
I think I am funnier than I really am.

Today .. My Big Adventure. :-|

i had an appointment in the nearby village. big storm came through as i left.
“tornado in the area” type winds, rain, hail. i stayed pulled over to wait it out.
businesses lost power, street lights out. downpour. i wanted to go into a building, just a few feet away, but the storm was so bad i didn’t want to get out of the car. cars are the worst place to be in a tornado. ugh.

the storm subsided. i got a good car wash. :D

Then. My stupid decision.
lots of water in the streets. the viaduct. :-|
i probably do not need to say more. :-|

my car is in the shop. they’ll look at it tomorrow.
i’m hoping it won’t be too bad. my son is looking for another car. i hope that won’t be necessary.

the tow truck driver gave me a ride home. much appreciated.
the cab driver i used to use died. not sure how i’ll get in to get it. i’ll find a way.

Even better. :D
The tow fee was part of the $68.04, i stopped by my insurance office, two blocks away, they wrote a check for me. the cab was great, i’ll use him again. i hope.

sadly, i learned the auto repair shop owner is in the hospital with serious problems, his wife is with him, their 2 sons are running the shop. i enjoy them. this is hard.
my insurance lady of decades just had heart surgery. she’s home and doing well. is expected to return to work.

i cannot pretend to understand life. :-|
