But realistically... how else can we force change? We're at this almost two years now.

Respectfully I wonder, is it up to us people to force change or is it up to the Lord to do that?steve-in-kville wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:04 amBut realistically... how else can we force change? We're at this almost two years now.
I am trusting the Lord to take care of anything that needs to be taken care of concerning CAM. Personally I feel hubby and my job is to help the poor, the needy, and those who have so much less than we privileged Americans. And then trust the Lord to deal with the mistakes CAM leadership made, according to His will.
There is a phrase I heard a long time ago, "There is a God and you are not Him". I think this applies to the issues with CAM. We should focus on what is our responsibility in helping those in need and let God do His work concerning the CAM leadership mistakes.

Grace, I will admit I fail in this area of faith. God works in mysterious ways, and I believe in that, really I do. But after watching CAM executives side-stepping responsibility in not only this issue, but other issues as well, I will admit my faith is struggling here.
I am only human.

Yes we are all only human and I think we all struggle with lack of faith at one time or other in our lives. I know I certainly have.steve-in-kville wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 7:20 amGrace, I will admit I fail in this area of faith. God works in mysterious ways, and I believe in that, really I do. As God’s church, we are called to speak out against sin. It is inexcusable for them to continue to promote Harold Herr.Grace wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:42 amRespectfully I wonder, is it up to us people to force change or is it up to the Lord to do that?steve-in-kville wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:04 amBut realistically... how else can we force change? Giving money to CAM may be hurting instead of helping. There are myriads of other ways to help people in Haiti. CAM is an organisation that serves its powerful donor base, and has proven that that is what they are interested in “helping”.

And people are speaking out about sin as it relates to CAM. I sincerely believe that God will deal with them according to His will as He sees fit.
Also I will cast no judgement on anyone who cannot in good conscience donate to them. I would hope that same courtesy would be granted to those who do donate to benefit the poor and needy around the world that CAM has helped.
Every relief organization depends on their donor base. No donor base means no funds to help the poor and needy.CAM is an organization that serves its powerful donor base, and has proven that that is what they are interested in “helping”.
When donating to CAM, MCC, or Blessings of Hope, all organizations we donate to, our focus is on the needs of the people they help.

Re: Randal Martin on the CAM/Jeriah Debacle
I don't know what you are referring to. CAM/TGS has not been offering his books for sale for quite some time, and would not use him again as a volunteer or employee.
A group of men who are not part of CAM leadership looked into the allegations. Some persons who had made allegations were not open to being interviewed and the group was not able to substantiate any of the abuse claims. However, because of the cloud/haze of allegations surrounding his personal life, CAM decided to discontinue offering his book.
If someone has accurate information on Harold Herr and wants to talk to someone on the investigative group, I could possibly facilitate that.

For the sake of discussion, why did it take someone outside of CAM to investigate the allegations?Ernie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:01 am

What? People don’t want someone inside CAM to investigate, nor outside CAM to investigate? Yet people want things investigated? How then?

The point I'm making is.... it took Trudy to bring the original scandal to light. From what I understand she gave CAM a chance to deal with it but they blew her off.
