Yep. This is pretty much the consensus of non-partisan news sources I'm reading. Iran sponsored the terrorists who perped the October 7 attacks on Israelis. Now the Bible verse "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is playing out in real time. Iran has been sponsoring terrorists in the region for decades and in doing terror unto others they are getting it in return starting with their own people rebelling against the ayatollah and the government.JohnH wrote: ↑Sat Feb 28, 2026 11:23 am According to NBC, Iranian officials are saying they are willing to de-escalate.
Iran's response of deciding to lob missiles and bombs at Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kuwait may not have been the best plan. The entire region is now enraged at Iran, and more importantly, has a casus belli to counterattack.
The big loser here is China who won't get cheap oil from Iran here - and Russia who has been reliant on drones and other manufactured goods from Iran in their war against Ukraine.

Who exactly is doing to others what they would like done to themselves?JohnL wrote: ↑Sat Feb 28, 2026 1:25 pmYep. This is pretty much the consensus of non-partisan news sources I'm reading. Iran clearly didn't understand that verse. How others are treated gets returned in kind.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Sat Feb 28, 2026 1:27 pmWho exactly is doing to others what they would like done to themselves?JohnL wrote: ↑Sat Feb 28, 2026 1:25 pmYep. If retaliation is simply “how others are treated gets returned in kind,” then how should we understand retaliation directed at the US and Israel?JohnL wrote: ↑Sat Feb 28, 2026 1:35 pmIran clearly didn't understand that verse. This whole conflict also has warnings in the Bible that can also apply to sponsors of terrorism.
Proverbs 24:17-18
17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: 18 Lest the LORD see [it], and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

I think few will mourn the Iranian regime but have we thought about what will replace it?

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
I’ve been wondering and praying about it. It appears the ayatollah and his regime leaders are dead. Inevitably they’ll be called martyrs by any of their surviving supporters. They’ll use that as a rallying point so it’s going to be a long time settling any transition.

I am against the attack. No one asked me before they launched. Not sure why.
I am not surprised. This needs to be cleared out before the midterms. I think this is one reason it is happening now.

Not sure how this would affect midterms?
I doubt Americans will care that much, but Mom said in Los Angeles there’s a big celebration with Iranian Americans holding up signs thanking Trump.
Much to come- the Israeli Ambassador is laying it all out to the U.N.

I think there’s a bigger objective here too. It has to do with China’s threats against Taiwan and its partnership with Russia.
