Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

Stop talking down to us.
I’m not talking down, just explaining why it doesn’t make sense to suggest with your limitations why you can be so critical of Trump and the Iranian situation and please quit accusing me of things that aren’t true as well.
It certainly feels to me like you are. What limitations exactly do you think I have? Why do you think I have very little access to information?
It seems people are misdiagnosing my points. I have said numerous times I look up to the Anabaptist people, but I’m not gonna look up to them regarding assessing a war. You should be thankful I don’t turn to you for perspectives on this. That means you’re doing what you believe right.
What is your source of information on the war?

That's exactly what you are doing, though, by reading posts on this thread written by Anabaptists.

I read from a wide variety of sources, including The Times of Israel and Military Times. Just because I am an Anabaptist who doesn't take part in the governments of this world doesn't mean I am not interested in what is taking place.

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.

What is your source of information on the war?
Here's one I like:

https://understandingwar.org/research/m ... y-26-2026/

This is also useful:

https://www.bellingcat.com/tag/iran/

I get the impression most of your sources are either Trump Administration press conferences or news sources that closely echo their talking points. Am I wrong about that? What other sources do you use?

You keep saying you are glad he is finally doing something, but that's only good if doing this particular something is going to clearly meet some goal. I'm not convinced it is. And the cost - in human lives, in our budget deficit, in relationships with our allies, in our credibility to the world as a whole, in US readiness to combat other threats as we run out of military toys - is enormous.

What are they doing now that is different than what they have tried before, and failed repeatedly?

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

You do realize there are a lot of other experts, speaking on this topic regarding the war and Iran, correct other politicians generals, former generals, politicians that have been around a long time.

Then why discuss this on MN at all?

Dodging the question?

You rarely answer any of my questions on these things. You claim to know much more than we do. Please share the sources of your wisdom and expertise, and how they answer these questions. Or is it mostly what I point to above? What sources do you use?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems like you have opinions formed based on what these experts say which is the same sort of experts that said Iraq had wmd’s.
Could you accept that these experts could be wrong and engage with idea exchange rather than dismiss us as uninformed? I obviously don’t watch tv or watch interviews but I read the war college publications, a variety of military sources and I tend to dig into history extensively.

Hi, of course I could be wrong and they could be wrong. There are more people in America that believe that they are a threat. Not only that they chant death to America and death to Israel. How do you think they’re going to carry that out? And we have access to see because of technology what exactly they do have so we know their uranium was being increased to the level that would eventually be what’s needed for nuclear weapons and they haven’t even admitted it. They have admitted they want nuclear weapons.

Of course you’re talking to someone that will always believe that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. That’s why they wouldn’t let us in to do the inspections for several months. They had plenty of time to get rid of them. Why do you think they wouldn’t let us into inspect whether they had them or not? They were supposed to let us in to do inspections.

For 1, the compliance with the treaty was disputed. Some argue that they complied and continued even after the US withdrew. Then of course some argued they never did.
What is your solution? You refer loosely to the Iranians as hating America, do you think the US actions are going to change that view?
Can you blame them for wanting nukes? Can you name a single Muslim country with nukes we’ve messed with?
Do you honestly believe the “government” of Iran would launch a nuke as a first strike? And realistically… who would their target be? America?
Secondly, what is going to happen to the uranium if their country falls apart from US attacks? Do you think the government collapsing makes America safer?

Then you are familiar with the Iraq army using chemical weapons against Iran? And the US supporting Iraq with tactical intelligence?
And then selling weapons to Iran?
Had. That is proven. Still had was not.
