When I grew up this f-word was considered as indecent as the other 4-letter one.

Must be a regional or cultural thing. Fart is a harmless word in my culture. Do you have anything to contribute to the thread topic or are you just wanting to distract from the topic with grumbling?

Baptist families I’ve known (from TN no less) wouldn’t let their kids say that. We don’t say it in our house either.

As I recall, it wasn’t allowed in our house either.
However, I fail to see the reasoning behind.
At times it’s necessary to use the word.
If another word is used to describe the deed; it means the same thing. Will the next generation ban that word as well?
With kids overuse can be a problem.
Banning it seems foolish tho.
