Last night I watched a movie called "My All-American." It was the story of Freddie Steinmark, a football player for the Texas Longhorns. It was really good, but really sad at the end. Good family movie.

I have been watching a lot of "Random Acts" on BYUTV. It is really good and uplifting. Most is recorded in Salt Lake City where BYU is located. They do good things for strangers and then pick one person each show to really lift up that has had some struggles. I love the way they do it because they do not just hand them things, they get the community involved and build support and connection through their "Acts of Kindness."

Took my dogs on their usual one-hour walk at the local recreational complex. My Golden leaped into the lake, but since the sign says NO SWIMMING, she only walked. The sign also warned, DOGS MUST BE LEASHED, which led to the two dogs telling each other off-collar jokes.

It's finally warmed up and dried off enough I can start clearing the basement. I got a local guy to come out to put down Dura Rubber liquid flooring. My wife said she wanted a clean and neat basement for Christmas and I can't argue with that.

Got the basement emptied and mopped. Found a bunch of boxes with old magazines including National Geographic’s. I quit my sub to NG in 1983 so it’s time to dump them. Feels good to get rid of the useless junk.

Had all the nieces/nephews in one place today. What a blessing, for my parents to see so many grandchildren. Plus a few “greats”.

Went through my cupboards, and filled four small boxes to give to Goodwill. I didn't realize I had so many little used items, or items just for display.

Heading to Mountain View Arkansas for a few days to see my daughter who is traveling in for a business trip. Will still be able to check in, just a little less frequent.
